The Skyborne—also known as the shen’dorei, or hidden people—are a new playable race in World of Warcraft: Forever. Their journey begins on Zephras Isle, a level 1–12 starting experience that blends classic Warcraft aesthetics with elemental architecture and a story shaped by wind and ancestry. At character creation, you’ll choose whether your Skyborne joins the proud Horde or the noble Alliance.
Can the horde only racial be changed to the overpowered alliance one? I want massive mana regen vs a garbage 10% speed buff for 30sec without going alliance.
Please change the Horde racial. 10% move speed for 30 seconds on a 2 min cooldown with a cast time is not good.
Also, not giving them Shaman on Alliance is a huge miss. The air elemental race from the sky can’t play the lightning and rain class?
I want to play them but Alliance not getting Skelf Shaman is a huge let down for me
I want Mage skelf for Horde, stupid to not allow both.
PLEASE ADD PRIEST/PALADIN SKYBORNE.

I don’t like that a raid boss is showing up at level 10 and you’re being saved at the last moment. Could be a bit more graceful finding their way into the storyline that is lowkey like the rest of the races I think.
Please let us play High Order Shaman, I’ll pay extra if I have to
Before the beta ends and things lock in I beg of you to consider the following
-
Unify their racial effects
Reasoning - From a player perspective it is more than a little awkward for the same race not be the same race, from a lore perspective these are the same people and should be able to do the same things. -
Change Language Pool
Reasoning - Lore wise these are Highborne that isolated themselves just like the Quel’dorei(Highborne/High elves) and Shal’dorei(Nightborne). Both races were proud of their past and held to their old ideals, and their isolation lead to the development of a unique culture/language. The Shen’dorei (Skyborne) deserve the same treatment as it makes little sense they would speak modern Darnassian. -
Class options
-
Consider granting both sides shaman/mage, at least both should get mage and alliance should get another paladin race combo(probably nelf)
Reasoning - Player wise it feels uncomfortable to see another faction specific race/class combo like shaman while the alliance gets mage leaving a glaring 1/4 shaman ratio but 1/2 paladin ratio.
-
Lore wise if the Skyborne hold dear to their history both should be mages, arcane magic is defining for highborne and it makes little sense they would drop it outright, shamanism or no.
love the owlbear druid form. They seem very popular. well done. not a fan of neutral races but happy with them overall.
Last Quest Cutscene/Boss Fight: I think it was a nice effort, but in the end, that whole cutscene was out of place so early in the game and not very Classic feeling. I got the whole, “Commander! We need you to go destroy the big baddie for us.” Gave me and my wife retail shudders.
I’m torn about the racials; to me, the Alliance Skyborne racial is far superior to the Horde one. On the other hand, there are no Priests and I can’t play a Mage on the Horde side. I understand the reasons—they make 100% sense—but it’s still a bit disappointing, since I’ll have to look into playing other races or classes ![]()
Not enough people are playing the bad race, I see…
This idea needs work.
Blizzard! Let the shen’dorei come to Azeroth as it was intended. On an RP-PVP ruleset!
Shaman to alliance, priest to horde, EASY FIX
Honestly, not a fan. There were definitely some better options that would have felt much more in-line with the main themes and feel here that would have still brought elves to both sides.
In the Q and A the comment that just adding Thalassin High Elves didn’t feel like you were putting your best foot forward. People have literally been asking for them since Classic. We know that they are there, we know there other pockets of them around. They could have used almost the same model just… Alliance cloths.
Bliz! you put a Dark ranger in the W3 campaign! it was right there! When silvermoon fell it killed 90% of the high elf population there. Thats 90% of a whoooole elf population. There are more than enough that it could have made up a Dark Fallen race, at least if not more than the citizens of Lordaeron. Again, people have wanted them for a LOOONG time. You even already added their skins in retail. The work was already done.
This would have also balanced out in the starting zones as well.
Alliance
- Darnassus: Night Elves
- Stormwind: Humans and High Elves
- Iron Forge: Dwarves and Gnomes
Horde
- Thunder Bluff: Tauren
- Orgrimmar: Orcs and Troll
- Undercity: Undead and Dark Fallen
You could have added a ton of interesting quest for both to buff out those zones. it would have felt a lot more in line with classic lore and with tied in the W3 stuff just like the UD pallys.
The only thing it wouldn’t have added was a new druid race to both side but that could have been fixed easily enough as well. In a way that also felt better then this.
Also, on the subject of druids. How are they druid? They lived in secret after the fall high elves way back in the war of the ancients. Before there were even druid. Then fled to the elemental plane. Shaman sure but druids?
Either way. it seems like there is general discourse everywhere I look over these guys. I do see some people like their starting zone, or like that they have the elf option for the horde. but to a LOT of people it definitely left a big RED flag in the middle of the whole subject of WoW:Forever. It has been a negative part of every real life conversation I have had about the game. Maybe it will be fine but it’ll have to be something that we have to deal with either way… forever.
Yeah… I’m gonna also take the opportunity to voice the feedback that I find the Skyborne uniquely unfit for this game.
Blood elves and high elves have a place in the existing lore and time period and people have been asking for them for decades. Imagine Zephras retooled into the parting of the ways for what become the Sunreavers and Silver Covenant
Blue elves from nowhere are incredibly jarring: the lore, the look, the feel, they all seem so incredibly out of place
This is a disappointing development and its really sad to see the resources squandered on something that could’ve been so much more satisfying (or at least less obtrusive) for so many people
Please give us SD models for this race before launch; choosing SD still makes you play with HD. They look so out of place.
Need ..pvp racials.
