I was logged into the game when at about 8:15 EST there was an announcement for a server restart, with a 15 minute timer. After about ~15 minutes of normal gameplay, i was taking the boat from Menethil harbor, when we did not transition through the loading screen and became stuck floating in the air. Eventually the servers went down again but once they came back up me and multiple friends are stuck with the same error, while others are able to play anyone else experiencing this?
EDIT-Full 12 hours later, 8:10 EST still same error. Our characters are definitely stuck active in server and clearly no auto-logout is kicking in for us…
Final Edit- 1:18EST, Server restart fixed it! I was able to log in now. Thanks for all the interactions and the community managers for addressing this!

Yes, it looks like that character is still logged in somehow. i /who the one with an issue and it says i’m still online and in orgrimmar, even though i’m on an alt on the same account. i don’t know how to fix this.

+1 I was able to make a new character and log into that but the character I was on when the servers went down is having this error

Having the same issue. I believe if you got Dc’d later than others you may have this issue as well.

Same issue as poster. I can log into any other character, even logged into other Ruleset. Also, let entire game shutdown for 20min and still didn’t clear it. I feel like the mail bug they trying to fix problem screwed players who have a common first name. I don’t know.. sigh…

Did you happen to stay on through part of theDC? I think thats what caused it to me. There was a period i could talk in all chat but couldnt move or do anything or see people.

I have been having this issue since it started. I understand it’s a beta and issues happen but i really want to continue playing.

Yes, I was apart of the DC, was in Barrens when it happened.

Having the same issue. My level 20 druid is now unusable right after I worked all day to get the full Fang set.

Same issue happens to me, I was running in the wetlands and get DCed. Now I cannot play my character. Not sure if any of you got this resolved.

Yep checking back in, over an hour later (compared to retail way over time a character should be dc/d) and I still also cannot log back in…
same issue here. i can log on a different character and see my druid online right now and it’s so annoying

Same issue here.
I got DC’d when everyone did about 20mins after the restart, and since then i have been completely unable to log into my character, and repeatedly get the “A character with that name already exists” error.
Please help Blizz.

yes no NPC was loaded in but i could chat then i got dc
