Was constantly crashing in Deeprun Tram so I did some testing. Figured out that the option “Secondary Lighting” is crashing the game if it’s set to anything above “Good”. In case it can help other folks out.
Will try that setting. Every time I start the game my driver is crashing and all monitors are going blank for a second or two. The Beta Client is very wonky so far and FPS are also way lower than what they should be
Quick Edit: No driver crash after changing “Secondary Lighting” to “Good” instead of “High”
I’m not getting any crashing, but I don’t see any of the environmental updates.
It just looks smokey to me everywhere I look.
Bumping to explain the same problem. Loading into the game past character select gives a hard fatal error on my AMD RX 9070 XT. This failure crash my driver until I hard reset my PC. Test my hardware, OS reinstall, and confirmed no problems on either. A small update happened this morning and now the game is unplayable above low graphics.
"Fatal Error - WowB.exe
ASSERT(clipMap.state == ClipMapState::COMMITTED || clipMap.state == ClipMapState::IDLE)
d:\BuildServer2\Builder\checkouts\0\Engine\Source\ShaerEffect\VirtualShadowMap.cpp(3…"
This is the information from the Fatal Error pop up when my graphics driver fails when trying to enter the game past the character selection screen.
Its nice to see that is the issue, but having an issue like this when the game releases in less than two months is simply unacceptable and needs to be addressed.
Some thing that seems to have worked for me.
Before logout, set graphics to slider to 1.
Restart game client and before you are done with character selection, make sure that graphics slider is still set to 1. After loading in, crank graphics slider to max. Worked for me with DX12 on 9070xt with 7800x3d.
So are they going to fix it
