So for some reason, on WoW Forever when I entered Deeprun Tram from the Ironforge entrance my drivers would crash. Entering from the Stormwind entrance did not cause a crash, only the Ironforge side twice. First time last night I got free because there were Horde PvPing using the loading transition to troll so they killed my stuck character and my ghost spawned in Elwynn Forest, but this second time tonight there’s no such PvP luck. I’m just stuck. I’ve updated my drivers, and now the error is from WoW stating it cannot run/start 3D acceleration while my computer spazzes until I kill WoWF in Task Manager. I’ve checked for updates, I’ve scanned and repaired, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. Still crashing. Still stuck.
You’d think, “Oh, just use the Stuck Character Service! This is literally what it’s for!” One problem: WoW Forever characters are not on the list, likely because it’s a Beta. So my final option is going over to my roommate and trying to log on using his computer to see if that’ll unstuck me. If THAT doesn’t work then I’m going to have to figure out how to open a ticket to see if a GM can unstuck my character. It has to be some hardware compatibility issue because most Alliance characters getting trapped by a driver crash while leaving Ironforge heading to Stormwind via the tram would be a massive uproar.

I am having the same problem, just ran in to go to Stormwind and now I’m glitched out and can’t get back in
Ok so I waited a few minutes and it spit me back out in iron forge but when I tried again it crashed so it’s got to be something on their end.
So update: My roommate’s computer managed to successfully log in to my character and I was able to ride down to Stormwind. I logged back on my computer and after about half a minute of graphical spazzing everything loaded and I was free to move and play again. Relogging did not have any more graphical spazzes. For the sake of thoroughness I tried reentering the Deeprun Tram from Stormwind’s side and caused another crash which is the first time from the southern end. After another rescue from my roommate’s computer it looks like I’m banned from the Deeprun Tram until whatever this issue is gets fixed. To be absolutely certain it’s not my character that’s the issue, I made a new Human named Tram Test, ran over to the Deeprun Tram, and have successfully crashed leaving Tram Test stuck in the purgatory of the Deeprun Tram Jail.
On the upside, these last few crashes have produced proper Crash Reports! I just don’t know where to email them to…
EDIT: Update 2: An hourish later I hearthed to SW and had the spazzy crash again but restarting the game got me back in after another half a minute. So it might not be just Deeprun Tram that has an issue.
What Graphics Card do you have because I am having the same issue with a radeon graphics card. Mine is a Radeon RX 7900 XT i also run a ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU. This is the only like instance portal I have an issue with is the deeprun tram portals.
Update, in the character creation/selection screen set graphics to lowest settings and log back in should fix the issue.. then when out of tram you should be able to set your graphics settings back.

I’ve got an AMD Radeon RX 9070 (16 GB). I’ll try out that graphics setting thing tomorrow!
This worked for me, Thank you!
Having the same issues from the Stormwind side after entering the Tram. I even tried to create new characters and they can not log in either. All characters now freeze on the loading screen. I can play at all.
I’ve also tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling top no avail. Going to try and log in on my wife’s computer to see if it will fix it.
If Blizz is reviewing these post. Here is the error codes I’m getting.
Report ID: 3F7AAFB1-60AC-41B2-902A-20F553CC6401
Fatal Error WowB.exe - ASSERT (clipMapState::COMMITTED || clipMap.state = = ClipMapSatete::IDLE

I’ve been having the same issues on my characters as well. Have tried it from either side and I’m stuck. Redownloading the game now and will try the low graphics thing right after.
Yeap I had the same issue too with a 9070 XT and Ryzen 7700.
Lowered graphics worked. Hope this wont be an issue for live.
Same bug on Mac, and lowest settings did not get me out.
MacBook Pro M4 Pro, 48 GB, macOS 15.7.4, build 1.60.1.69913. Played about 4 hours at preset 6 with no problems. Walked into the Deeprun Tram from the Ironforge side and the whole Mac hard-froze during the loading screen. Not just the client. WindowServer stops responding and macOS either panics and reboots or kills the window server and dumps me at the login screen.
My priest is now stuck there. Every login freezes the Mac again. I have tried:
- Preset 1 at character select
- Secondary Lighting at Fair, Shadow Quality Low, Compute Effects off, SSAO off
- Setting the Raid and Battleground profile to the same lowest values, in case the tram loads with that profile
None of it helps. Six freezes on this one character so far. The macOS watchdog reports show the same thing every time: WindowServer’s main thread blocked in the kernel GPU driver (IOGPUFamily / AGXG16X) while WoW is loading the zone.
So the lowest-settings fix that works for the AMD users here does not work on Apple Silicon. The Stuck Character Service doesn’t list beta characters and support says they can’t move them. I don’t have a second computer to log in from.
Two asks for Blizzard: a way to get characters out of the tram without loading it, and a look at whatever the Ironforge tram entrance loads that other zones don’t.
Side effect worth knowing for other Mac users: after each freeze Battle.net throws BLZBNTAGT00001398 and won’t update or launch. Force-quit the “Agent” process in Activity Monitor and delete the small “shmem” files inside /Applications/World of Warcraft/Data/ (data, ecache and the wow_* folders). Then it works again.
After testing out a number of settings, it seems it’s 1 setting.
Radeon cards Crash to Desktop
Location: Deeprun Tram (anywhere in the zone)
Setting at issue: Secondary Lighting
Low - works
Good - works
High - crashes to desktop even with every other setting on Low/Disabled

I can confirm, turning down the Secondary Lighting option has ‘fixed’ the problem for me! For those not using Radeon cards that are having this issue, I hope you can find a solution until Blizzard fixes this issue!
I am having the same issue
