Players can expect this to be the final round of raid and dungeon trinket adjustments for Season 2 when making loot-related decisions, barring any unexpected outliers that may arise. This pass is primarily intended to promote a more viable niche for single-target healing effect options with a few more miscellaneous minor buffs as well.
In addition, several trinkets from Season 1 remain more desirable than we would like due to a combination of aggressive initial tuning and lack of direct Season 2 trinket competition in a particular niche (in this case, Mastery on use).
Given the later-than-usual timing of this tuning, we are announcing these changes a full week ahead of their implementation to inform player decisions and allow for feedback.
The following changes will be applied with the September 22 weekly maintenance:
Preternatural Antivenom – Healing increased by 75%.
Seed of Radiant Hope – Cooldown reduced to 1 min (was 1.5 mins). Healing increased by 40%.
Mycolic Medicine – Effect frequency increased by 33%. Healing increased by 58%.
Unstable Felheart Crystal - Cooldown reduced to 1.5 mins (was 2 mins). Healing increased by 58%.
Ruby Whelp Shell – Frequency of all effects increased by 100%. All damage reduced by 42%. Single target healing effect increased by 37%. Multi-target healing increased by 5%. Stat effects reduced by 50%.
Gaze of the Alnseer – Primary stat reduced by 10%.
This is some horrendous trinket tuning holy…… all dps trinkets in dungeons are garbage. Flask and vial are the only decent ones people can get in m+. Raid trinkets are far above dung trinkets by a mile. And its honestly wild youre just gonna leave them like that.
LMFAO instead of buffing some of the metric ton of garbage trinkets this season to make them less garbage you decided to say to people who have bad luck replacing their S1 trinkets “hey were gonna nerf the trinkets you’re still wearing so you have to swap to one of our metric ton of garbage trinkets this season”. I have never seen a group of devs so worthless in their decision making….
I think the issue is less that S2 trinkets are bad, but rather that there’re a lot of trinkets with damage procs instead of stat procs this season, and the sad truth is that boring old stat procs sim better basically every time.
PLEASE consider buffing some of this season’s DPS trinkets! Gaze, Vaelgor’s, and Puzzle Box are all extremely strong for old trinkets but a big part of that stems from the fact that this season’s trinkets are, with four exceptions, quite weak on average.
Vashnik’s Sanguine Rancor is painfully weak. Seastone and Gebbo’s are the best caster trinkets by virtue of everything else being beyond abysmal. Freightrunner’s Flask is only good because other on-uses besides Vile Vial are atrocious. Not a single person has ever thought about Vexhul’s Everflowing Gland, most of the trinkets from Blinding Vale, Knot of Writhing Serpents, and more.
The only four trinkets anyone cares about are Guillotine, Font, Heart (for some specs), and the broken Soulcoiler healer trinket. The others are the best of the worst. Seastone and Gebbo’s are the best caster passives and they pale in comparison to Guillotine+2pc.
Is this an out of season April Fool’s joke? You can’t be serious about leaving this season’s garbage trinkets in their current state for 4 more months.
The season is 6 months long and this is a live service subscription based game?
So I ask again, what do you mean Final?
If you were actually doing your jobs right, you would be doing a tuning pass every week until things were in order.
Final, they claim. Jesus Christ.
There are 321 ilv hero track dungeon & raid trinkets that are only a +300 dps upgrade over Season 1 raid trinkets at 298. I’m not seeing any of those S2 trinkets in this tuning pass.
I sometimes get a kick out of trying new ones, but this time I had no urge to investigate because the numbers were so incredibly poor at a glance. Many of them are not touched in this tuning pass.
This should be an eye opener to demonstrate just how over tuned Mastery is for a lot of your specs.
Also, why is the solution to dampen the effects of the PREVIOUS tier trinkets, when you should be tuning the CURRENT tier trinkets?
You have so many dungeon trinkets that are outclassed by the LFR version of the Ula’tek trinket for many specializations.
Don’t nerf the previous ones, because now all the specs that rely on them due to the worse current trinkets will drop off for no reason other than you putting a bandaid on a problem.
