Undead Paladin?
Life and Death are diametrically opposed cosmic forces.
Making Undead Paladins a playable race/class combo completely ignores established Warcraft cosmology. The Holy Light is intrinsically tied to life, while the Undead are animated by Death and Shadow magic. Lore-wise, when the Forsaken channel the Light, it doesn’t bless them—it burns them, causing immense agony and making them temporarily feel their own rotting flesh. While anomalies like Sir Zeliek exist, he was a tragic exception bound by the Scourge, not a standard adventurer. A Paladin doesn’t just cast the Light; they are infused with it. An Undead infused with the Light would essentially incinerate themselves.
You’re absolutely wrong for putting skyborne behind a paywall.
Weren’t every other race added in WoW behind a paywall?

Not in the same manner
Not in the same manner and some not at all. many can be unlocked through completing a quest chain.
At the time of release or every expansion, you needed to purchase the expansion to play the new race. Every. Single. One. Of course that restriction is later removed when the next expansion comes out and the one before moves as part of the base value of the game.
Everything else new in Forever is included with our regular subscription. You don’t actually have to buy the game separately, only Skyborne. There’s tons of new stuff coming and you only have to pay for the optional new race? That seems fair to me. I’ve prepurchased and am looking forward to playing an Elf mage on Alliance. Night Elf mage never hit for me.
Nobody cares about this ridiculous CoSMiC fOrCeS nonsense they stirred us up into since Legion.
We want to see a cool undead paladin with a giant hammer destroying things.
I have a Forsaken Priest, the light is with her… the light can stay with a fallen Paladin as well.
A paladin setting themselves on fire and charging at the enemy, or inflicting terrible pain on themselves if it means destroying their foes, feels pretty on-brand for the whole “the light can be zealous and wrathful” take that Midnight has put in the spotlight.
And even if that wasn’t the case, undead paladins aren’t even remotely a leap from established lore. We already know the light can create its own undead, and fundamentally change creatures to suit its purpose. There is absolutely no reason undead can’t be changed in this way, and infused with the light without burning up or being in a constant state of agony.
Any chance that the blood elf model can stop being used and recycle on repeat for “different variations”, which overall causes the blood elf story to become diluted to the point of tap water?
The numerous undead paladins already in the game disagree with your headcanon.
This is gonna be so good

What are you talking about? There are many examples, including basic undead Scarlet Crusade footsoldiers - and the rest of the scarlet crusade.
Or is this some yeeyee Classic Andy time bubble argument? Bearing in mind the Scarlet Crusade and Naxx NPCs were added in Vanilla ![]()
They butchered and destroyed their lore years ago. It doesn’t matter to them anymore.
Skyborne being put behind a playwall is not right;
Racials is extremely powerful in the beta of forever, with skybornes being over the top in racial powers, thus you are essentially putting pay to win behind a paywall, something blizzard as a company promised to never do under a subscription model.
This is not a free to play game. And you as a company needs to honor your customers as such. Not allowing everyone to be on a fair playing ground will dilute your game and you will not get the audience you expect until this is fixed.
bare minimum would have been to make them available for retail aswell ![]()
Kinda seems like an open admission of failure to write anything new that’s interesting and compelling and just slap mechanics onto another classic reskin, except stripping out key aspects like faction tension, story and classes.
Woohoo. Nah.
