It’s like the B story in a TV show; it’s supposed to keep us occupied/distracted while the A story progresses in the background, to the point where our characters can rejoin the action.
I’m just looking forward to a troll raid, even if it doesn’t feel like the most important thing on/in Azeroth right now.
