Housing Dye Trading Temporarily Disabled

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday August 4 at, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (4:00 p.m. EDT), all housing dye items will be temporarily adjusted to become Warbound. This will not change how the items are created or used or purchased on the Auction House, but it will prevent players from posting any new housing dye auctions.

Our goal is to ensure that no housing dyes are up for sale on the Auction House during the deployment of the Curse of Ula’tek content update, to alleviate issues with the upcoming dye conversion.

After the Curse of Ula’tek content update goes live and all existing housing dye and housing dye pigment items are converted to the new housing dye items, players will once again be able to freely trade, sell, or auction the new housing dye items.

We appreciate your patience as we prepare for this changeover.

I just put a few thousand into mine so I’ll let you know. No way do I trust that these are going to unwarbound as intended.

Thanks for the heads up.

About two hours ago, I put up a bunch on the AH. Let’s see what happens. Their warning was, “You’ll get mail, you’ll get lots of mail.” I’m trying to avoid that.

This is going to cause a lot of confusion to sellers who may end up destroying their stock of now warbound dyes not knowing it will be temporary. I hope you give an in-game notice to the fact as well.

Does this mean I need to remove mine from the warbank?

I’m confused because I thought they were already warbound as the warbank is where I store them.

No, dyes and pigments were tradable like any item.

What I wonder is what happens to dyes in our mailboxes when they get converted to the new ones.

Anything can go in the Warbank except soulbound items. Dye’s have always been a normal non-bound item that can be bought and sold on AH. This is just a temporary change to stop people posting items on the AH for just the time around the patch. And then they will go back to the way they were. You don’t have to move the dye’s out of your war bank if you don’t want to. They should convert to the new items just fine no matter the location.

Pigments don’t appear to be warbound, because the ones in my guild’s bank aren’t. (I also made a couple more just to check.)

The first that you log in to after the patch, given my experience on the PTR after they put in the change and I did a fresh account data copy.

I’m a thinking that if I don’t move the dyes out of our guild bank, my guild master might get 77 bits of mail. She might get a bit huffy with me.

What happens to dyes in guild banks?

This is what I want to know because my guild has been storying dye in the guild bank.

Just today I was trying to put dye in the guild bank where it’s been stored and thought it was the bug where it doesn’t stack cross realm when on a diff realm’s guild.

So I pulled the whole stack like normal to stack it in my bag and put it but, but now guess it all belongs to me since it became account bound? So now to my guild looks like I stole the whole stack of dye and I’m unable to give it back.

Edit: based off other guild bank issues wondering if I should just pull it all for conversion and then try to put it back when no long BoA. I was seconds of selling the to me useless stack of dye to a vendor as don’t want to waste bag space, but lucky someone in trade told me about this post when asked before selling it.
