Restorations of Hardcore Characters Lost to DDoS on July 21

On July 21, three Classic Hardcore realms in North America were impacted by a malicious DDoS attack, resulting in the deaths of some player-characters.

Today, we’ve restored the dead player-characters who were lost during the DDoS timeframe and remained on their Hardcore realm.

Restorations are now complete. Players who fit the above criteria should be able to log back into their character on the Hardcore realm.

Thank you!

I do have one last question, i will not complain what so ever, but i would like to know if im keeping the tarnished soul debuff? i have both a tarnished sould debuff and soul of iron debuff. it would be cool to keep i guess, but im worried if there is the 1% stat debuff. its whatever at this point tho, very happy. edit. dont believe theres any stat debuff. not really a problem at this point, just a story behind it.

Were people auto revived or do you apply?

This is big news - thank you Kaivax and team for looking into this and doing right for the players that were effected!

My character still showed up as a ghost 5hrs after this post. I had to log in to the character to find out I was revived. it was quite a rollar coaster of emotions.

More like soft core with the revives.

There needs to be some sort of response to people dying to mobs beneath the ground or other similar clipping situations that are developing after the patch, where there is no way to fight back against the monster attacking you. The recent layering/phasing while grouping situation also sounds abysmal, but I haven’t experienced that one myself.

Twice this week I’ve had toons die to latency spikes. Very frustrating. Is there something else going on?

Hello Blizzard, I just checked brought my toon back but sadly it was missed. Any chance you can help me with this?
