Game Master Intervened in +23 NPX

According to wowhead, reddit and others a game master intervened in a +23 NPX and ported himself into the dungeon to kill some trash for the group who finished the last boss under %. The group is friends with the GM and were in VC at the time and asked for him to do them a solid.

All the details on wowhead, but this is wild. We can’t even get real people to respond to tickets but a GM has the time and ability to cheat in a M+ for his buddies?

Blizzard is really sorry and will do better next time. As an apology here is a new cash shop mount you can buy.

We all know Microsoft is trigger happy to lay people off and then this GM slips through the cracks and cheats for his buddies.

Wild.

and their trigger finger led to a public confirmation of fallout remasters, even new vegas, and a public rededication to TES:VI.

maybe they should fire a few more to put the fear of Elune into them.

I wonder if they knew they were about to be fired anyway? Or just didn’t care if they get fired?

Supposedly the WCL people already sent it up the chain.

maybe their friends at work should get fired too so these people can suffer the consequences of their decisions

I think it was more of a matter of they thought they’d get away with it. Apparently the GM’s socials have been set to private since the wowhead post came out.

all his friends are gonna lose their jobs for trying to defend him, Asha is coming and she is bringing the HAMMER

They explicitly admitted to this during a conversation with Growl / YumyTV on stream https://www.twitch.tv/yumytv/clip/LightRelievedOysterFloof-Nqr8oXHdnSbdwXv2

Growl even tries to brush it off by suggesting people do this all the time. Are we seriously okay with Blizzard-sanctioned cheating at the highest level of competition, where a Game Master just “death touches” mobs to give their friends a boost?

This is every bit as bad as the notorious GM corruption on private servers. To preserve any remaining integrity, Blizzard needs to take immediate action: the run must be revoked and scrubbed from the leaderboards completely, every player involved in accepting the help should be permanently banned, and the employee must be terminated for blatantly abusing their GM privileges.

They got caught red-handed this time, but how many other times have they abused these GM powers behind closed doors?

I wouldn’t normally care since this is a textbook first-world problem, but Blizz has a reward structure that extends to the very top levels, and stuff like this obviously completely undermines that. No good!

I agree with everything you said!
