With scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, we’ll make tuning adjustments that are primarily targeted at healer balance and Demon Hunter survivability in PvP.
Player versus Player
Demon Hunter
Developers’ notes: Both Devourer and Havoc Demon Hunters have been more difficult to land kills against than intended. We’re reducing the potency of shared mitigation effects that are contributing to their survival.
Demon Muzzle now reduces magic damage taken by 5% in PvP combat (was 15%).
Glimpse now reduces damage taken by 25% (was 35%) while airborne after using Vengeful Retreat.
Monk
Mistweaver
Developers’ notes: We’re reducing Mistweavers’ ability to heal versus clumped targets in PvP since they’ve been outputting more healing than we’d like against pet classes.
Way of the Crane now transfers 100% of Spinning Crane Kick’s damage into healing in PvP Combat (was 340%).
Priest
Holy
Developers’ notes: We’re increasing overall healing and providing an opportunity for Holy Priests to contribute offensively to secure kills with their team.
Holy Fire direct damage increased by 15%.
Holy Fire periodic damage increased by 27%.
All healing increased by 3%.
Discipline
Healing of all spells increased by 3% in PvP combat.
Shaman
Restoration
Developers’ notes: Restoration Shaman healing performance has been slightly behind other healers in PvP, so we’re targeting an increase to their instant healing capabilities.
Holy Priest buffs are simply not enough. You have to realize that getting the best damage out of your rotation is to Apotheosis into Chastise, HF spam, and getting a reset w/ Holy Nova into more Chastise/HF spam. Outside of that window it takes an incredibly long time to regenerate Chastise, and for large AOE pulls we would need a substantial buff to Holy Nova’s damage, as well as fixing the talent that buffs Holy Nova. Putting it on a CD to get a bigger nova is STUPID. It completely bricks the ability and is basically a wasted talent. If you’re going to force us to put TWO talents into Holy Nova, make the 2nd talent BUFF it, not just change how it’s used, and even giving it a loss of throughput.
Also, smite damage sucks, and HF is too long of a CD to make up for that. BUFF SMITE FOR HOLY! Reduce how long it takes to get Chastise back up.
None of these H Priest changes help our survivability, lack of rot protection, lack of damage since we have to completely stop healing to DPS, and our lack of good utility. We just aren’t a good option at all for any group setting. Nobody’s sitting there like, “Damn I really wish a Holy Priest would apply to this group”.
Smite actually does more damage than Holy Fire little bro, we don’t want it getting buffed.
All of these are false statements and the literal opposite of reality, we’re one of the tankiest specs in the game and our damage is fine, its our healing late game that is completely non-existent.
have you noticed hpriest has gotten like heal increases nearly every single patch lol. has it fixed the mp issue? since im not sure the total healing increase since launch lol
Hey there! Just perhaps the #1 Fistweaver (MW) monk NA with most battleground blitz matches NA by far. 1500+ this season.
This nerf is a direct result of Arena players complaining they can’t beat SCK vs BM Hunter/Unholy DK lobbies. SCK has never done enough healing in Battleground Blitz to keep up with burst damage, especially high MMR lobbies, even with 10+ targets around.
While the nerf is warranted for arena, perhaps only to 180 or 200%. 100% is too much unless it will align with the new changes in 12.1
Example: If I’m running with the flag and I get silenced, all I have is Spinning Crane Kick, Tiger Palm, Blackout/Rising Sun Kick. None of these will do enough damage to convert to heal to keep up with the burst damage of holding a flag in rated pvp, especially not 1v3 Spinning Crane Kick, plus I have to turn my character around for a split second in a jump for it to hit. Other than that I have defensives or pre-bubble expecting the damage.
BTW, All of the other changes are nice and I feel they are perfect, even for classes and specs I don’t play or despise.
