The Tidebound Grotto

We will be opening up The Tidebound Grotto for testing on World difficulty at 8pm Pacific Time for one hour. This is an instance with a single raid boss.

Instructions for Entering the Instance

You can enter the instance by swimming down to the instance’s entrance near the Wreck of Gral’s Belly on The Coiled Isle, the new zone in the Curse of Ula’tek. Once outside the instance, approach the instance portal and select “World” difficulty from the UI.

Feedback

During this testing window, we’d like to get some feedback on the new “World” difficulty experience. Some questions that might help guide your feedback are below:

  • Was it clear how to enter the instance?
  • Did you feel that you waited an appropriate amount of time before being able to encounter enemies within the instance?
  • How difficult was the experience for your group?

As always, noting your level of experience and the nature of your group is helpful for us.

We went in as a group of three, mythic raiders. The boss seemed to be tuned for a group that small to do it, with the adds even being killable by a disc priest. It was very easy, but still fun. I like that it’s instanced, which means we won’t get zone lag and can enter as a larger group. I do wonder if someone who is just out exploring the world will understand what it is, however, or realize that they can try walking into the portal and just get automatically grouped. I’m not sure if there’s some quest or other in-game information that will point players in that direction.
