Take part in firelit revelry and celebration dedicated to the hottest season of the year. The Midsummer Fire Festival sparks a variety of activities and ignites rewards to light up Azeroth’s summer.
Stuff is extremely overpriced for how much of it there is. 2200 blossoms to get everything new this year.
Completely agree.
This is the third year in a row new items have been added to the Midsummer Fire Festival. While it’s nice to get new stuff each year, the prices are outrageous.
It appears the new quests to Ignite the skies in Silvermoon is bugged and not currently completable.
Northern Kalimdor one is also bugged. Nothing to fly through for the quest.
Came here to see what I was missing with Silvermoon and Northern Kalimdor. Apparently it’s not just me.
Have to forgive them, they are a small indie company after all. How could they ever be faulted for releasing new content that’s broken?
Something about chasing down all those fires in the summer twilight is just sort of magical.
I miss the days when players defended fires.
You can get the vendor mogs from the dungeon loot bag. I’d just save all the tokens for near the end of the event
Great; just like last year with the fake or bugged “bad luck protection” on Ahune and no xmogs dropped for my duration.
Show off your flight skills and glide through drifting blossoms carried on warm midsummer winds as the story unfolds around each flight path. Unlike traditional Dragonriding races, these adventures focus less on peril and precision, and more on the tales told by fireflight .
Well that’s a nifty way to change the races a bit and do something different. I approve.
Yeah, when the quests work. 2 of them are currently bugged and cannot be completed.
Ya know, I didn’t look at the dates and didn’t realize it started today. lol
And I’m not surprised by the bugs. I can’t be surprised anymore.
I haven’t logged in yet, but these seem like really solid updates to this Holiday.
Thematically this one has always been my favorite in the game, it’s similar to Halloween, but always felt like it had just a bit more care put into it that makes it stand out.
But it’s never really changed. We get new items and new fires for new expansions, but the activities haven’t really been updated (or haven’t since I started participating, which was forever ago). So it gets old, despite being my favorite.
The additions this year make a lot of sense and I’m really happy to see them. I haven’t logged in yet, but based on what I’m reading Blizzard did good here!
(disregarding bugs – unfortunately a given in modern WoW releases. I remember a couple years back going for the Valentine’s Day achievements and them not fixing the Love Fool one until like 3 days before the event ended despite daily posts and bug reports about it)
I got a sunwalker cape appearance with one character, but nothing with 3 others… So I assume it’s just rare to get that, or I can only get one appearance per day regardless of character?
yeah i got tired of torch tossing 15 years ago, and flying to every zone to click a fire is very tedious. So i just haven’t been able to afford more than 1-2 new things for the past decade.
The currency being warbound is good, but alts also only get a fraction of it too. At least the valentine one was pretty quick to farm up a bunch on alts with just 5 minutes per day and combine. New brofest wasn’t too bad either. But midsummer is still like the elder festival which I also barely participate in anymore. I did the whole visit every town thing a couple dozen times the first couple years of it, when I didn’t have a job.
The new quest chain was cute though. Worked fine for my horde main, haven’t tried on any alts yet to see if that currency reward is a pittance like repeating the silvermoon flying one is.
And it’s very silly that Ahune hasn’t changed in 19 years since the first “The Ice Stone has melted” server spam. Sit around for 3 minutes then finally get to nuke his core. Yawn.
does the drop chance increase daily like the last few new mounts?
does the mount drop from the boss’s loot chest or the daily chilled bag? I’ve been reading it comes from the boss itself in this article and the holiday guide on wowhead but I’ve seen a few people here on forums saying they saw it drop from the daily bag.
Another world event.
Another low drop rate limited time mount not on the vendor after years of player feedback.
Wretched design.
I got some stuff from the dungeon boss, save your blossoms and use them at the end of the event.
In any case, I went from level 83 to 86 on my mage by desecrating/honoring the flames in all continents (except vash’jir), and from 84 to 87 on my dh.
I was able to buy everything once I finished.
It’s definitely not the fastest way to level, but it’s good for those alts you just don’t feel like questing or doing dungeons with, or those who are very undergeared.
