Ever since 12.0.7 launched, every time I open my Battle Net launcher, I am greeted with this pop-up message:
This folder does not contain the correct version of the game. Please check the installation path and try again.
First two days, this was also accompanied by having to wait for a new download/install before the Play button was available.
Now, however, I still get the pop-up in the launcher, but the version displays 12.0.7.68256 and hitting the Play button works just fine.
If things are working, how do I get th elauncher to stop telling me there’s a problem? And if there’s still an actual problem then how do i fix it (and why does the game otherwise act like there’s not aproblem?)
Same thing here! It would be great if the pop up would stop
My friend and I are getting the same message. Game is loading and working fine.
I just started getting this message everytime I open Battle.Net launcher too. I can play WoW just fine. I’ve even tried uninstalling and re-installing WoW and the launcher, but I still get the message.
I’ve been getting the same error every time I try to launch the game for the last couple days. I can start and play the game once I close the error window.
Same thing for me. I always get the msg but the game loads and plays fine.
yea it just started 2 days ago . i scan and repair 3 times even uninstalled and installed the game i just came back a month ago after being gone for 4 yrs. and were buggy it took a month to get all of my stuff working again, then the new patch for the new launch of midnight, any thing I don’t have midnight loaded as for I know, I am playing dragon flight
Add me to this list. Game loads fine but get that error every time I open the launcher.
I suspect an incorrect hash, or no hash, was given to the launcher to use to check authenticity. I am getting the same warnings in Classic, a completely different game, so all the hashes might be missing or expired. I wondered at first if my game was infected, but with everyone getting the same message, it must be an issue at Blizzard’s end.
Yeah, been getting the same error on my end as of today. Would be nice if this was fixed.
I getting the same message. Considering the game loads I’ve written the issue off to Blizzard is paying peanut and has ended up with monkeys.
Still happening.
Every. Single. Time.
Blizz still going with radio silence on this issue? Classy.
My wife and I are both having this issue now, started 2 or 3 days ago. But the game runs fine.
Same. Happens every time. No clue on what the heck is going on.
Same for me, ever since updating the patch.
Launch from Bnet instead of broken Windows shortcut.
Yep, that took care of it. Using the: Battle.net Launcher.exe
Yup, that worked. Is there a way to repair the direct shortcut? Wonder what about 12.0.7 made the windows shortcut break?
Launching Battle.net direct kinda solves the issue…but kinda doesn’t.
If I click the WoW shortcut, I get the error and have to click to dismiss it.
if I launch Battle.net direct, no error message, but now it defaults to home and I need the extra click anyway to get into the WoW menu.
So I’m basically no better off. I’d prefer this issue be fixed than dance around it clicking on alternate shortcuts (Plus I don’t really want to keep a battle.net shortcut on my desktop, I’d prefer to just have and use the WoW one)
