We have recently sent out a large hotfix to address the issues for Unholy that came with the 12.0.5 update. Part of this change was updating Festering Scythe to be a buff on the player that increases their disease tick rate instead of a debuff on the target. The underlying issue here was proving to be problematic for a number of reasons and we felt like this would be the safest approach for now.
We will continue to monitor any potential issues and we appreciate the patience and understanding.
Festering Scythe replaces Festering Strike. Festering Scythe now applies Plagues and puts Dread Plague on your primary target. Solving the major issue introduce with Dread Plague jumping to an undesired target unless you micro manage by spending a GCD + resource to reapply it to the primary target.
This secondary method of applying Plagues allows Outbreak to turn into Blightfall.
Outbreak can finally turn into a 15s-20s CD impactful button, merged with DnD, as a lingering miasma centered at the target’s location, and anyone that gets close to the target is afflicted by Virulent Plague. Combining Outbreak and DnD saves a button.
Then all the nonsensical bandaids to get Blightfall to work can be removed, such as Dark Transform turns into Blightfall, Scourge Strike applying Virulent Plague, Blightfall giving a charge of Putrefy, etc.
Dread Plague should also NOT proc Putrefy, because proccing a Necrotic Wound randomly - with the way Necrotic Wound duration doesn’t reset - feels terrible. Put the free auto Putrefy on Sudden Doom if you must.
Have Dread Plague proc an empowered Festering Scythe, or fix how Necrotic Wounds works.
Unreal, any word on mm being the most awful gameplay experience players have had to endure in a decade or are we waiting for 12.0.1 for them to finish the work they left half done in the 0.5 patch?
pls adress the pvp talent Necrotic wounds, that Soul reaper let us consume alle putrefy stacks
because of the class rework, everytime when we use soul reaper, we have to spend another rune to use the last charge of putrefy it makes our burst way worse than before the change.
Perhaps read the whole post? They state that they fixed multiple issues in the first line. Sure an exact list would be nice, but even just playing the game you can immediately tell the difference with how many more SD procs we’re getting without bugged plagues.
This is maddening! I am glad Unholy players got their fix in a timely fashion but Arcane has been doing the exact same damage as Unholy post bug all expansion long and you haven’t even acknowledged it! And with Arcane the problem isn’t even a bug but just awful design! For crying out loud, do something!
So the second time UHDK was picked up off the floor doing Frost levels of damage just for you to leave Frost DK where it is? You’ve had two opportunities to address Frost while noticing Unholy underperforming. I am so done.
