With yesterday’s tuning pass, it’s clear that Unholy performance dropped further than intended. Today, we’re working on a series of adjustments and bugfixes for the spec.
This includes reverting a portion of the baseline aura nerf and also adjusting individual abilities to increase damage a bit more outside of burst windows. We’ve also identified a several bugs that had a negative impact on tuning, so today’s changes will include fixes for those. We’ll post a full, final list of today’s changes once we’re ready to apply them to the game.
After we’re done today, we expect Unholy to be in a better spot overall, with the sum of all changes putting UDKs in a much more reasonable space that makes them competitive in raiding and mythic dungeons.
Thank you, this spec rework while not perfect had been on the right trajectory and I love the focus on minions but yesterday I was ready to quit with how bad it was.
Thank you, getting blasted like that on the first raid night REALLY hurt When can we expect to see these changes and fixes? Please tell me you’re not going to make us suffer the entire week.
I suspect they are going to follow normal cadence for the rest of the changes. They are going to do 3 more tuning passes in the next handful of weeks anyways.
This is more of a we broke this spec entirely and need to take immediate action. Unholy is doing worse than pretty much everyone else right now, and it isn’t just a slight thing.
Obviously, mistakes were made and they needed to move the needle on when to address them.
This doesn’t mean they will be good we were in a good place a while back balanced but had a weapon enchant so kept getting nerfred and they couldn’t figure out why…. Taking us from 5th to dead last when we needed buffs not nerfs was biggest mistake, biggest issue is single target dps, and lack of burst in pack pulls DT needs a shorter cooldown for packs.
They need to roll back DPS speed and regen of mages and pallys now that were over buffed.
