Pinterest suspended my account after I posted with the WoW integration

I rarely use Pinterest but have had it for years. I connected WoW on Thursday and posted a photo of a bookcase in my house with plushies on top. This morning i got an email that I was suspended.

Hi there,

We suspended your account because we noticed some activity that appears to violate our policies against spam.

Please review the Community Guidelines for more detailed information on what Pinterest considers spam.

If you believe this is an error, please click this link to let us know.

I submitted information on their contact form basically stating what I said above.

After an hour and a half I got an email back saying they reviewed my suspension and are not reactivating.

Hi there,

We’ve considered your appeal and decided not to reactivate your account.

If you have further questions, you can contact us through our Help Center.

I see a Reddit thread starting of others in this situation.

Blizz, what’s going on? Did you guys not tell Pinterest you were doing this? Or are there users on Pinterest not amused with our WoW posts that are reporting us for spam?

Wow, that sucks. Another reason to hate that site.

“Get banned from our new partner company’s website and receive a decor item!”

lol kind of hilarious, sorry it happened though

Wow. Big fail.

Hope you get things back

This totally didn’t play out the way I expected. I don’t use and won’t use pinterest so I’m gonna miss out on this “experience”.

That is a big fail. Probably some AI detection stuff seeing an influx of similar photos due to decor etc.

Ha we had the same brain length there lol

Hello, this is happening to me as well. I’ve appealed twice and same outcome was received.

Maybe try posting this subject on the Customer Service forum? The blues might remove or move it to a better forum or they might take the info.

I’d also send feedback to Blizzard through the support web page.

Yeah… I think Sinvelion has a point. I’d post in Customer Support, see if they know the best route to take to have Blizz tell Pinterest to stop banning people.

I’ve been banned on pinterest since 2014 for spam. It’s still on ongoing issue.

But there is a toy called Pin-o-Matic Camera that’s supposed to work with pintrest. Very weird, you should defiantly post on their forums.

Same happened to my account, normally only save pins, now it’s suspended

That is peak Blizz, peak Meta, and peak MS in the 2020s.

I’ve heard of this happening outside of the WoW integration too. Apparently Pinterest is very ban happy these days and refuses to reactivate people’s accounts.

Personally I’ve had two pins removed for “self harm” and one was literally a picture of a cute tea pot and the other was wild horses in Alberta so I have no idea what they are on about. I think their AI is really bad and no humans actually look at the appeals. I highly doubt anyone at Blizz can get them to change their ways regardless of the cross promotion.

We could have had in-game framed screenshots, but instead they gave us…this.

Craziness, perhaps Pinterest should have communicated within their organization. Can’t blame this one on blizzard
