Over the last couple of days, we’ve seen a lot of feedback from players that in many cases, there are too many others nearby when you’re questing or doing gathering professions in the open world.
Today, we’ve developed some configuration changes that should hopefully reduce the congestion while retaining the feeling that the world is still well-populated. Those changes will go live during our currently scheduled realm restarts in a few hours.
We’ll continue to keep a close eye on this going forward, and we’ll adjust things further if necessary.
I assume some better layering, meaning it will respond faster to population changes to open or close layers as needed.
Whether or not this will work in practice will remain to be seen.
I really hope that the world does still feel alive. I don’t want it to feel like retail where there’s maybe 2 other people in the same zone as me at any one time. That’s boring.
If I want an empty solo world I’ll go play retail.
They just won’t communicate properly. Literally said they have the thing ready to go, but won’t say what it is, and they’re implementing it within a day.
MoP is 100% fully abandoned I promise you, they will announce at Blizzcon 2026 the end of 2019 classic (unsure if thats MoP era with retail transfers, or what).
