Introducing the Devourer Demon Hunter, a third specialization that utilizes the power of the Void. This glaive-wielding, soul-harvesting, and planet crushing spellcaster operates from mid-range with the full suite of mobility you'd expect from Demon Hunters.
Budget shadow priest.
If that’s the case…it will be a shadow priest with double jump and glide. So the new superior shadow priest.
Whooohoo! I can’t wait!
Guess I am making a third demon hunter after all…
Old style Shadow Priest void form mixed with Evoker. Now if only they got Surrender to Madness.
Shadow priest still has Void Form and the main goal is to still maintain it for as long as possible. It just no longer kills you.
They just copied the same mechanic for Devourer.
Yeah but the current void form is now fixed duration, I liked the old way where it drains and you have to keep generating to keep it active.
It is not a fixed duration at all. You try to keep it up as long as possible.
Big time wish they’d just let us unlock the race now so we can make a void DH for Legion Remix thus killing 2 birds with 1 stone (I already have a NE and BE DH).
Havoc stole meta from locks, I guess it’s fitting the new spec steals something from spriests.
Hoping it ends up more like MoP demo warlock meta and not Legion voidform.
Weaving in and out of meta was a fun gameplay loop.
Sounds like old Breath of Sindragosa
Is there a reason you changed your minds on old shadow void form? You removed it for reasons, but now it’s okay?
iirc, one of those reasons was the gap between good and bad players when it came to damage.
As cool as this looks, I’m still pretty disappointed that we finally get another void wielding spec in the game and it’s another spellcaster. On a previously very melee class as well! We already have shadow priests doing void from range. This was the time to give us a melee void spec!
Sub rogue is a melee void spec lol. Also, this dh spec also has an optional playstyle to go melee.
Should have been a whole void class, instead they opted for another void caster slapped onto a class that otherwise has nothing to do with it.
I think the main reason was that it was an impossible to balance nightmare, because you were gaining damage the longer you were in it.
They did say there was going to be a meta oriented talent build that was going to be more raid friendly, and a melee oriented talent build that was going to be more M+ friendly.
If they’re going to revive a dead playstyle though, i’d rather have MoP/WoD demo than Legion Voidform. Especially since voidform still exists and is still very similar to its original incarnation. You’re fighting a buff depleting instead of a resource bar is pretty much the main difference.
Yeah which this will also introduce lol. Sure they have optional playstyles that will probably be 100x easier, but how do you balance them against the harder to play infinite void form? I would like to know why they think it’s fine to introduce it now.
