The Cooldown Manager and Future Updates

Since the release of the 11.1.5 Cooldown Manager feature, we’ve been listening to your feedback and are excited to share several planned improvements. These updates will enhance functionality, customization, and ease of use. We aim to consistently iterate and improve on the Cooldown Manager, and these enhancements will be included in future World of Warcraft updates.

These are some big changes and will make the Cooldown Manager much more useful.

With that said, the fact we need a separate feature to track a bunch of cooldowns shows just how complicated this game has gotten. It’s pure overload anymore.

This is a big step forward in actually being useful!

That said, please don’t box us into “cooldowns” and “utility”

Give us the ability to make arbitrary groups of buttons. If the goal of the cooldown manager is to functionally replace weakauras it needs to be able to be flexible and “up to 2 groups of horizontal or vertical icons” isn’t.

Same with debuff tracking. Also need the ability to track important buffs outside of your player frame.

huh, enough changes that I might actually check it out.

Thank you very much for these types of updates that help ensure better game performance.

Overall a big improvement. Hopefully this is something we’ll see on a PTR some time soon.

  • Saving different Cooldown Manager configurations profiles that can be swapped between different types of content.

While not stated here, I’m assuming this also will include sharing or import/export functionality of profiles.

That’ll be critical if they want to convince people to use this over weak auras.

What convincing? One day Weak Auras just won’t work and we will have no choice.

that’s the whole problem, some of them aren’t easy to see.

Great improvements. I’d also like to see the option to show the combat assisted highlight on the cooldown manager as well.

If it’s taking this long to get a simple cooldown manager to function and work properly just imagine what it’s gonna be like when they do ALL combat and UI and tracking addons and WA’s in one fell swoop at the same time…

And what makes you think they’ll do it all in one fell swoop?

Some amazing stuff here. It would be even better if we could put our resources in there. For example if the bar section could also contain runic power and runes as a bar that we can reorder in that section.

The current personal resource display just doesn’t work well because it moves depending on camera angle.

These are all excellent changes.

It’s still concerning that the feature launched without so many of them. I understand launching without the most advanced version, but launching without the ability to choose which abilities to track was a huge miss. It made the feature mostly unusable.

Two points of feedback:

  • 2 bars (or 3 with dots enabled) isn’t going to be enough for a lot of people. The “essential” and “utility” labels are nice for a basic version, but the advanced mode needs to enable the use of several bars (even if those bars are just 1 button each) that can be individually customized and moved around.
  • It’s possible this is already planned, but please allow bars instead of icons for dot tracking, and allow us to easily track dots on a group of targets (i.e. Affliction Warlock mode).

Oh wow, this looks so much better. I’m actually excited to try it out and ditch some of my weakauras.

Yes! Please let us control the personal resource bar more. I want to love it, but it just feels invisible most of the time.

This is really cool! Can’t wait to try this.

Another reason I love centralized blizzard ui stuff is that i can go on ptr, import the base iu from retail and boom done, no need with WA and such
