that would imply were not the middle child. blizzard treats us like the red headed middle step child.
if getting a full rework ment getting a dev that had some idea about the class while also not ignoring us 99% of the time ide be all for it. i am bias though cause i dont like snapshotting as its just extra crap to keep track of while having to do mechanics and movements and such. but something needs to change as were consistently 1 of the least played specs in the game. its hard to convince people to play a spec thats mostly played by people who have been playing it for 10+ years its like trying to sell Stockholm syndrome to someone
Why though? I mean I get that if we were more popular weâd probably get more attention. But at the same time, do we really want to be reworked every single major patch like paladin and mage? Because thatâs apparently what modern Blizzard does with the specs that are more popular.
But probably more importantly, and while I fully recognize itâs going to be impossible to separate out my bias here, reworking something runs a very real risk that it doesnât bring new people into the tent but does drive existing players out of the tent. 2 of the 3 specs of monk are unrecognizable today from what they were in MoP; yet monk is also one of the least played classes in the game. Feral, when it was basically just assassination rogue, had close to a 100% pick rate in MDI in DF S1, yet was still break the meta that season. Should I be excited to lose what I like most about my favorite spec in the promise that others find enjoyment with the spec?
If feral should be fully reworked, I really think the arguments need to be centered around the flaws with the spec and not its popularity. Make long time ferals like myself understand what doesnât work with the spec and give me a reason to look forward to whatever will be coming on the horizon. How many people who arenât me might give the spec a whirl provides zero direct benefit for me; it just seems like Iâm giving up the mechanics I do like for a replacement I might not.
tbh the way feral is now im only playing it out of obligation and not because im having fun playing it. my guild just started pushing into mythic raid last night as we just got our last members there aotc so i dont rly want to start gearing up something else and wasting everyones time same for my group of friends i run keys with. its easier for me to take 1 for the team than waste 4-19 other peoples time. ill just shelve my druid in s2 and play it to get the tier for mog if i like it but thats probably the extent for the foreseeable future
I agree with some of the other comments made that feral in and of itself isnât too bad right now. Itâs the druid class overall that needs a ton of work and some of the talent locations in the feral talent tree need a bit of tuning is about it.
