I’m just waiting for them to announce that you can exchange tokens for 20th anniversary currency.

Naw but I have an alt of every class so 3-4 sets would be nice, not all. A week per set wouldn’t be as bad

Oh no, I cant get the set right now?

Might not be able to get it because of rl concerns?

Itll be on the trading post in 3-6 months.

Thats kind of hyperbolic.

Nobody is asking for it in the mail. I think if they bunped up the broze rewards a bit it’d be better.

Lets be real here too. The content will be miniscule, and the dungeon/raid is also re-used.

It’s not merely playing the game. Its being asked to make a long boring grind.

New content? Well that’s playing a game and enjoying it. You can even be clever and redo older content in fun ways like remix. This will probably be dailies and a weekly.

Then they add a world boss with a mount most likely everyone just got lol.

Its low effort.

It’s 20yr old content that everyone has already done back when it was the “current” content. This is a “celebration” event not new content and truthfully I think anyone that still has T2 in their banks or already did those raids back in vanilla should just be given the new uprez of the set as a thank you for sticking with the game for 20yrs.

Turns out the faceless soulless corporation values profit over enjoyment.

Who could’ve seen that coming.

lmao.

if you guys think that the sets wont be on the trading post then you actually are delusional and need to go outside.

i was told all the anniversary stuff was going to cost the timewalking badge token things so i havent spent any and planning on going in with 250k of them (hopefully buying everything available on day 1)… so thats not the case?!?

I don’t think the Blizzard folks are intelligent enough to manipulate anyone, let alone such an well-intentioned group of players who so easily spot all of their evil machinations they put into their magic elf video game.

For the first set. And they said 2-3 weeks. Then after that, discounts and new ways of earning the currency kick in. The whole thing, every set, is said to cost ~300 currency with all discounts put in.

Also, we have until January 7th.

True… its not awful but to be honest while the event will be interesting once or twice I see nothing that would make me want to grind it.

They’re adding a bunch of stuff for timewalker tokens (a mount, pets, armour mogs, titles) but the redone T2 sets use a different currency to get - as well as being used to buy other stuff too.

Blizzard said they’d be available every anniversary so worst case scenario, you buy them again next year.

If they did, they wouldn’t have to shift so often on rewards after players got pissed and would get it right the first go at least some of the time, but they always screw it up. Always.

They will buff currency acquisition too after the patch goes live and players are once again pissed.

They’re not good at their job if they can’t stretch engagement to a certain degree without pissing everyone off.

The only reason WoW even survived 20 years is because of the passion and loyalty of it’s fans who stuck around through the good and the bad.

I feel the event should be thanking players, not milking them. I’m kind of bummed but not surprised at all. :woman_shrugging:
