For players who are in that state, the only way to earn their Hall of Fame achievement will be to re-clear the Bandit and Mug’Zee encounters on Mythic difficulty.
Just for clarity, if we killed One-Armed Bandit and Mug’zee previously, but DIDN’T kill Gallywix last week, and DO kill Gallywix this week (let’s say, tonight), will we get Hall of Fame, or will we have to rekill One-Armed Bandit and Mug’zee anyway?
Last year, Blizz started to retroactively apply fixes for various things to help respect player’s time. I had hope that that would be their philosophy going forward.
Clearly, between this and the Vault duping, that isn’t the case. Disappointing.
Do we need to re-kill Bandit and Mug’Zee before Hall of Fame closes, even if we killed them all before Hall of Fame closed, or will our rank go to another guild?
Could you clarify how exactly this works? Do the Bandit and Mug’Zee rekills have to be before HoF closes? Because that would be really messed up for guilds extending (who will not have the opportunity to rekill the previous 2) and guilds who just killed Gallywix and want a breather.
Bandit and Mug’zee are substantially harder than Gallywix. Like, each of them takes close to double the pulls Gallywix takes and both have very real DPS checks involved.
Moreover, if this affects guilds who are extending on Gallywix to get HoF (like mine) we’d actively get screwed out of an HoF we would’ve otherwise earned simply because our well-earned Bandit and Mug’zee kills didn’t count for HoF and what would’ve been our spot if we kill Gally tonight (which is extremely likely since we had a 7% wipe last night) gets taken by some other guild. I don’t think there are enough words in any language that could describe how livid we’d be if that’s how we lost an HoF we’ll otherwise be getting fair and square.
I am not a HOF level raider but this is just pathetic. Some people who legitimately earned this achievement may miss out on it entirely now. You need to do better, Blizzard.
Just trying to understand why this is the solution… is it because blizzard doesn’t believe there’s enough HoF raiders in this situation that it’s not worth working toward a fix or handing out achieves manually? They do understand how this impacts the competition for HoF right?
This reminds me a bit of the guild bank disaster, where massive amounts of gold and items vanished from the banks and we were told sorry, we can’t fix it.
This game has a database. It supposedly records everything we do in the game (even sometimes things we dont do and get punished for). So are we being told that yet again, despite doing something, Blizzard can’t see the thing was done and adjust the outcome accordingly?
What the hell is going on behind the scenes there?
In that case, I’m going to have to ask you (not you specifically, Kaivax; I know you’re just the messenger) to seriously consider figuring out some sort of solution to this, because based on how this works my guild has a very, very real chance of not getting a Hall of Fame we absolutely should be getting this week.
We’ve been extending our lockout since the week of April 1st in order to kill One-Armed Bandit, continued to extend this lockout for Mug’zee, and will be extending this lockout to kill Gallywix. We have logs of these bosses being killed legitimately, as is the case for a great many guilds that are currently progging Gally or are deep into Mug’zee prog, and in this state we literally cannot rekill One-Armed Bandit and Mug’zee AND kill Gallywix in a single lockout to secure HoF. Not on our schedule.
I know you’re just the messenger, Kaivax, but this is incredibly insulting to so, so many late HoF guilds, including mine.
