2020 Blizzcon Rewards

I… I don’t hate this and I think I should on principle.

You have made me feel very weird.

Shame on you.

I think it should be in the theme of 2020 - some kind of plagued murloc

Please no.

I don’t plan on buying a ticket (if it’s even held this year) but if there’s a baby murloc DK involved I won’t have a choice!

Virtual Ticket!

You are a man of integrity just like me

Can easily do a virtual blizzcon only this year. Won’t be the same but it’s still doable

I’m thinking the only Blizzcon “reward” this year, will be that no one actually has to go (since it will be completely virtual.)

But putting on BlizzCon is a very expensive thing, and VTs alone wouldn’t bring in the $$ to offset the tremendous costs. They would probably be better served to skip it (it’s been skipped before) and save on those costs to make next year’s BlizzCon worth it for themselves and the fans.

We’ll see… but I don’t think a virtual convention is worth it for them.

I’d settle for a pin or badge that says " I survived 2020".

If I don’t necro this thread on 1/1/2021 assume I’m dead and this post is ironic.

Sure they could! I also think it would be worth it for them!

VTs went up to $50 and people bemoaned it. Nowhere near enough VTs would be sold to offset the lost income of $250+ tickets for the real thing.

You also don’t understand that the costs will go way down in making it.

Yeah, if the entire thing is virtual only, then they can cut a lot of costs. They could pretty much do the whole thing in their offices with hardware they have lying around.

Yes. This is what it should be.

If it was going to go from a 3-day huge convention with all the bells & whistles the Blizzard brings, and all the on-site merch they sell – to something each one is doing out of their living rooms/offices, just for the sake of putting it on?

Yea that sounds even more plausible that they’d skip it entirely and make next one better. It’s not like they would be cancelling it because they just don’t want to do it. This pandemic is reason enough to not have it one year.

Like I said, we’ll see. I’m pretty sure we’ll have an announcement about BlizzCon one way or the other, within the next month.

I guess you missed the part where Zoom has been getting hacked non stop and people(hackers) have been…doing nasty things…in front of all the children watching, so much so its gotten banned in some places. No thanks, I don’t want that to happen, there would be many many hackers aiming to ruin it in the most horrible ways.

The reward should be a dead-shadowland murloc.

Yeah I missed all that, probably because I use Zoom behind the gov. firewall.

It’s not like it would even be 1/10th the cost, you don’t rent out the Anaheim Convention Center for a virtual Blizzcon, you do it from the offices.

Announcements/demos, they aren’t going to wait a year to do that stuff, there’s still plenty to do with Blizzcon that can be done virtually.
