Why do you think these three things are the only parts of the game to consider?
In LOTR online guilds can have their own Kinship house. I would love to have house in wow with lots of customization options.
Well for many people…wow is much more than raiding, pvp or mythic+
Putting aside the assumption that those are the only things that matter in the game (they aren’t), player housing is customization. Customization options motivate people and can be given as rewards to encourage engagement with whatever content they want. Just like that content is improved by offering cool titles and mounts, it can also be enhanced by adding cool items to put around your character’s house.
invite him for a beer.
Answering a question with a question, cute.
its a pretty valid question lol
Dear Blizzard Devs,
I, like MANY others, not all, but many, would pay real life money for housing items and the like. It’s an addiction if done correctly (see EQ2), and I would spend a lot more hours in game, and more money, if this were an addition. People that do not like it won’t give you any more money in any case. Just sayin
I actually miss my garrison, I wish they could’ve expanded upon the system instead of just taking the mission part of it.
Not to mention the mission system is basically pointless nowadays. Another thing I liked. I completely understand not wanting it to be mandatory or gate progression, but the BFA mission table just feels redundant.
People want player housing yet crapped all over the one time they gave you player housing.
“Cool” is entirely subjective, isn’t it?
Neither of the above adds to the current game and is just cosmetics and Garrisons v2.0.
SWTOR has had the best player housing I’ve seen so far. Even went as far as added housing with PvP match hosting options.
Garrison can’t be compared to housing, i feel both are totally different.
You’re right, i suppose that there’s also companions / battlepets. But were you suggesting that we build them houses too?
Doesn’t Garrison kinda count as player housing?
its just… one big house with an army to help keep it safe…
People will say no but that is what that was. Pretty shoddy really.
Player housing is released
Players spend a boat load of gold/tokens and time to personalize said housing
In typical blizz newfashion it does not carry over until the next expansion because it was the “big thing” for this one
Riots and forum posts flood the interwebs
This is why we won’t get player housing. They know the path and where it leads.
Edit: RIP farms and garrisons. Your concept had potential… your execution was flawed.
Not that different, it’s a fair assumption that WoW housing if it ever happened would be instanced. At best you’d get XIV neighborhoods at worst you’d get Garrisons 2.0. It still locks people out of the overworld and unless people can get total convenience factors in their own houses they rarely will use them. So either you get WoD again where nobody is seen anywhere or something barely anyone uses and people question why it exists.
Yet, it had it’s own garden, mine and fishing hole… and you could add whatever buildings to it that you unlocked through three tiers.
Just because many came along afterwards and didn’t bother with it didn’t mean that it didn’t work for the expansion that it was in.
Blizz tried it, and found that people just /afk’d in it. Then moved on.
My mage still has their AH (assembled) bot in it… tho’ longboi is just so much more portable!
Yeah, Blizzard.
Dont you realize its [CURRENT YEAR], and there still isnt [RANDOM UNRELATED THING] in WoW!!
We build our own houses or kinship for entire guilds. There should be lots of customization options.
Only tricky part is making it instanced or non instance. People should be able to invite others to their house, etc.
