20 years and no third faction

They would never go the way of DAoC, the storyline doesn’t really allow it currently.

Besides, if they went the way of DAoC pvp everyone would be on fair footing… and we can’t have that when we can group queue for raids.

IDK, tell that to the imbalance that happens on PvP servers. a 3rd faction could help sort some of that out.

Not unlikely at all. In fact, the more time that goes by, the more baked in systems that would make it more difficult to implement. Now if you had said 2 years and no third faction, that would be something to consider.

A third faction would be the most interesting thing they’ve done in years. But they’ve already started the homogenization of factions along with classes. So at this point there’s no possibility.

It definitely would have been a better direction than the one they took. Could have been a defectors faction with a new race or two along with some races from the original factions.

I do not want this.

I didn’t think ogres are native to Azeroth but came in through the Dark portal.

Let’s pretend they did add a third faction.

Who belongs there? Are these defectors from their respective factions? Is this a new threat? What is their goal? I’m just curious to know if you had any ideas or what you would like to see. Personally, I have no idea where to even begin when it comes to a third faction.

However, I do wish that we could join sub factions or there were more neutral factions like the Argent Dawn. Sure, it probably wouldn’t make a huge difference, but joining the Kor’kron or the Defias Brotherhood or a more involved Syndicate or something would be kind of neat.

Starcraft and Planetside both made great use of 3 factions. I would love to see something like that implemented here. It would certainly add some much-needed flavor to this aging world.

This whole get-a-long-gang homogenization of merging the two factions we have is so weak and diluting. I know it appeals to simpletons and people who like Wonderbread and maynoaise sandwiches, but there is more to life than holding hands and skipping through the meadow.

“But I want to play with my friends!” yeah…we’ve all heard it, nimrod, it’s a disingenuous argument.

We need Khadgar to start the Champions of Azeroth neutral faction, that everyone who wants to play together can join.

We need to have a 3rd faction because the melding of the factions to make them the same is just silly!

This new faction, of course, would be made out of people from the other factions coming together.

Guess the ship for the third faction sailed, meaning if we didn’t get one in wrath, or any other time we ain’t getting a third faction…

Pretty sad now that we think of it

We don’t need two either.

Now hold on just a minute…

As someone who played a pvp game with three factions (Dark Age of Camelot) I can tell you that isn’t true.

Because this game wasn’t set up for to be more than 2 factions.

Why would we need another faction? It’s a mess with 2 as it is.

Think for half a second about how turbo dumb it would be gameplay-wise.

Either:
1 - The new faction is the cool kids and 99% of players just go there
2 - Writers fail to make them compelling enough and everyone just remains in their current faction

Lorewise it might be neat, but realistically the ONLY way to actually make it work is to encourage weirdo purists dedicated to their one faction vs those those who work cross-faction. And even then, boom we already have the 99% because those purists are so tiresome.
