I will bring a friend to WoW, but we have no rush to reach max level. I was wondering if this could work as a way to introduce them to the vast world without relying on questing: 2-manning dungeons.
Using either a fully geared max Paladin or one decked in heirlooms, tank for my friend. WoG healing in others is pretty good with correct talents. Holy offspec just in case.
Letting them choose DPS or healer (or whatever really).
Do a world tour of all dungeons until we reach max level. Maybe some questing here and there to open continents (like MoP where you have to play the inte intro first). I can then sort or fly them to each dungeon entrance.
Low level dungeons are very easy so I think this is viable, but I haven’t tried.
I think this would be better to convey a sense of scale of all the world and different continents instead of just 10-70 one expansion.
Slow pulling packs kinda like the old days to be careful. My worry is boss encounters.l though.
Is a nice tie in to delves? Which is the content we would eventually just focus casually at max.
Posting this looking for suggestions, maybe yes it would work, maybe someone tried and didn’t.
Whether it’s possible or not will depend on the scaling tuning. And I don’t know what that’s like at all levels at the moment.
My impression is that it will be fine at lower levels, but definitely by the time you get into the late 50s, you will be feeling it pretty hard. Maybe before then; scaling tuning isn’t exactly perfectly consistent.
I found this thread.
Towards the end, the OP says he is level 35 and heading to Outland.
That was a year ago. He didn’t make it past 40.
Was that because he just got tired of it, or did scaling catch up to him? I don’t know.
You might be able to dodge and weave by going into and out of Chromie Time to adjust the effective level of dungeons past level 30. I know you can do that, and I know it will be successful for completing dungeons, at least if you repeat them enough, but I don;t know how efficient it will be.
Personally, I don’t think it’s a great intro to the game just to walk behind someone effectively soloing a dungeon, sloooowly. And I don’t see how trudging through dank holes in the ground conveys a sense of scale of the world better than being IN the world. But different people are different.
I cant disagree with your last paragraph, and literally i posted this before Midnight reveal, apparently they are actually gonna revamp a bit the starting experience.
My whole reason for this is that i love this game but it really sucks at low levels for introducing players to World of Warcraft. Maybe Midnight revamp is what I will try instead.
My second option was Chromie timing Legion which at least takes you to some bits of Azeroth depending on class and some quests.
