You must not have played against full power death strike/spellwarden unholy dk in DF.
Correction full powered spellwarden and will of the necropolis
Deathstrike was not the issue, It was those two talents with another talent called gloomward which increased all absorb effects by 15%
Will of the necropolis and spellwarden would absorb the damage taken, And since it got absorbed it technically never happened
Deathstrike scaled off these absorption effects, And because there was 2 extremely strong absorbs deathstrike got a lot of unfair scaling
Now that both of them are super nerfed, and spellwarden is being removed in 10.1 Deathstrike would never reach the levels of healing it did before hand

play a frost dk and youll see first hand how bad deathstrike is

That 3% dmg nerf comming cause blizz says frost is too strong, pouring one out for you big guy.
it also says pve targeted change
