Season of Discovery Hotfixes - Updated February 12

Love the constant updates to SOD!

Big “I paid my student loans” energy

100% agree

Please stop ruining the game further. World PVP has always been unplayable but now it’s beyond lag it’s straight up bugged and not working.

Small Indie Company.

Haven’t been able to do the event at all since your “fix”.

Season of Discovery

  • Healing Rain will no longer interrupt the auto-attack swing timer of the casting Shaman every time it heals.
  • Living Flame will now cease to spread and deal damage if the Mage caster no longer has the rune equipped.
  • Regeneration and Mass Regeneration will now properly consume Arcane Blast when they benefit from it, regardless of the Mage’s healing targets.
  • Mage Temporal Beacon will now also heal based on damage done by Arcane wands.
  • The radius of healing for Mass Regeneration has been increased to 30 yards (was 15 yards).
  • Battle for Ashenvale
    • The Priestess of the Moon Felore Moonray and Far Seer Kazragore are now spawned in Ashenvale while the Battle for Ashenvale is inactive, and are available to turn in quest items. Felore Moonray can be found in the inn in Astranaar, and Kazragore can be found in the inn in Splintertree Post. During the battle, they will move to their respective battlefield positions.
    • [With realm restarts] Fixed an issue where progress for the Battle for Ashenvale could be reset repeatedly by battles ending at different times on different layers.

Happy to see the buff to mage healers. Arcane wand gives it some flavor too.

Nice changes to mages. Headed in the right direction.

We’d love to see Living Flame fixed so that you don’t clip another mage’s when multiple are cast.

Fantastic, you both fixed a bug with Healing Rain, and buffed the range of Mass Regen. Now…
Can you buff the range of healing rain so it’s not the worst of the multi target healing runes?

As an Arcane Mage Healer, thank you. Much appreciated. This alone will do wonders for us.

They fill different roles. Melee should be stacked (and ranged as well when possible) to get benefit from Healing Rain, whereas Mass Regen is a Mage’s only AoE healing and thus needed the range buff so they can actually raid heal.

Name another Shaman AoE heal available at level 25.

Nice, Arcane mage heals will feel even better

uhmmmm, but where are the buffs to chimera shot??? where is the buff to pet durability??? hunters are useless now and its all thanks to crybabies who click on their spells with their mouse.

no you didn’t.

Okey, i decided to play in off peak hours to see how long it would take between games. Nearly 2 hours and ive 1 game 70% is too long.

Can you please add a secondary objective to be done outside the grand event to force % even on layers with fewer player during off peak times. That can make the zone less pve based more pvp based.

Easiest ones domination game mode style

Add 3 hotspots like in hellfire peninsulas towers, and have them give a flat % of progres for your faction per minute but please make it so that they change positions on the map. Any 3 of 6 or so pre determined spots would be good id say. Then after every ashenvale just pick 3 and have em change randomly every 10 minutes or something Sadly a static 3 zones will just forces one held by each faction and only 1 contested. Which really just leads to a constant 2n1 and horde just waits a few more minutes. Constantly moving them makes players need to play in ashenvale, use roads more, make them think its not contested right now we can get that free % then for a carrot maybe make holding one give give a buff. each zone having a different buff could be its own thing, so certain zones could be more contested to get or to remove a buff from the opposing faction. that would be cool. But more annoying on your end im sure.

If you wanted to make it really fun and wsg like, maybe add a flag, gives a flat gigabuff and a stacking debuff to track time with the flag and to prevent griefing let it increase damage taken to the point of 1 shot, kill the flag carrier get % based on how long he held it for, bring the flag to your leader in your town get % make the risk ever picking it up so people are willing to defend and kill for it. While also rewarding for actually bringing it back.

you could see ashenvale events forced by the playerbase every 30-45 minutes even on deader layers without needing to rework the layers system and the players will feel like its just more content to enjoy without messing with existing content.

if they cant change 1 spell (paladin buff) from 5 minutes to 30 minutes, i doubt they can do any of this. The only changes they seem to make are nerf hunters and fun.

By the way it would be nice if they did add a tower/flag thing that would swift the % up faster. But so would just every top of the hour it would start a match on 1 layer and 1 layer only (aka you queue up for ashenvale battle grounds and when it pops you click enter instance layer)…

Yikes. Dude. Just asking for like 2g back lol

You missed the ‘With realm restarts’ part there, should be live after todays reboot.

He is in the Inn however unable to interact with him even though I have the Sentinel Charm in my bag.
