Ofc it is. They easily could have left templates in.
Theyâve virtually never left anything in. Every system since mop has been different (tbc-cata felt pretty similar). Changing something to some other completely garbage system without listening to what is still pure pride.
If that happened we wouldnât have gotten wod gearing, because the forums hated it during beta wod.
Kept saying without pvp power it wouldnât work
Absolutely. Iâm not saying they shouldnât innovate. I was even mildly excited for templates for legion. Just saying that when something doesnât work and people ask for stuff back, donât give them something completely different all while pretending itâs what we asked for (aka bfa or sl).
Also innovation isnât accepting that you did something wrong. Still tons of pride in innovation.
You know whatâs not prideful? Admitting you were wrong and wishing for templates back lol⌠Like I didnât like templates because wod>templates but man in hindsight Iâd go back in a heart beat.
Would have been 100% perfect had warmode been made in legion with templates
They are experimenting. Nothing wrong with that. Again, they donât have to come right out and apologize for anything. But, the fact we are having drastic changes, and yes Legion to now are drastic, says a lot.
And yet innovation for the sake of innovation doesnât work either.
Did they honestly think that BfA was an improvement on anything ever done in this game for PVP players? This has been the worst 2 years for PVP gear in the history of WoW. Right on the tail of the second worst.
Innovate where it makes sense to: like the unloved specs/classes. There is no need to innovate when something was arguably getting better and better over many iterations (PVP gear from Vanilla to WoD)
I would have no problem with pve and pvp gear being treated equally if the pve and pvp content were also treated equally.
Right now, pve players who want to relax and avoid the toughest opponents have many options. LFR, Normal raids, Normal and Heroic and Mythic 0 dungeons, etc. Where do pvp players go to avoid getting smashed by superior gear?
So yes, go ahead and keep the âgear is gearâ approach. Just make sure that in every dungeon and raid, Mythic level mobs and bosses pop up to smash your face in. Pve players shouldnât be able to avoid the need to get the best gear to enjoy their own content if pvp players canât.
They thought their hidden scaling was going to work, it didnât.
