1.5 months and Im not interested anymore

No one in my heroic raiding guild grinded islands for hours.

You did you one set of islands per week and the emissaries for azerite and that was enough.

I would guess less than 5% of the players actually did the kind of grinding you are talking about. The ones who are extremely competitive.

Again, completely false. Your argument is complete hearsay and personal experience. Unless you played well after the expansion’s launch, what you’re saying it isn’t even remotely true. The thing is, however, I can’t really argue it because you know I can’t prove you wrong because it’s your personal experience. It’s pointless for me to even try because most of your drivel is “Well I didn’t have that problem”, which… okay? And?

I can try and provide evidence that shows objective truth in which islands were a required grind, but what does it even matter if you’re just going to deflect with such nonsense?

So do you have a source that indicates most people grinded islands for hours because it appears you are just using hearsay and personal experience yourself and claiming I am wrong.

A guild that has capable people doesn’t need to be all serious and can still do content. The worst guilds I have been in (other than top end mythic raiding ones) are the ones most likely to tell people you have to do this and that each week and even then they fail.

There was no ‘required grind’ to do islands - that is what you decided to do. I didn’t even do the one set most weeks and guess what my neck was never really far behind others because of the catch up mechanisms.

Try leveling an alt. You get to spend time in zones that were designed when the game was good. Get all the heritage armors. Take a break from the item level crawl. Plenty of things to do if you just let go and wait for next patch.

Even if this were true, I can literally apply the same thing to Torghast and renown, yet you still claim that this expansion is somehow grindier than the last.

If you only need to run something weekly, how is that any different than the island expeditions you claim that we only had to do weekly?

The thing is, I can’t really verify if any of what you’re saying is true. You said you ran heroics and even indicated that you were in Mythic raiding guilds, but I can’t see your profile to know if that’s true or not. You only have 70 achievement points and you’re posting on an alt.

So something tells me you’re probably lying. Either way, it’s pointless to keep trying to talk with you about it.

The thing is you could skip that grind in BfA and still have a game to play. Can you skip Torghast and the renown system in Shadowlands and still have content.

How odd I check your profile and figured you haven’t done anything either. But I wasn’t rude enough to tell you you were lying or that you didn’t know what you were talking about.

This is my second account and what I told you is true. It isn’t hard to be part of a heroic raiding guild. And the mythic raiding guild (was in top 10 US at one time as well) I was in because I bought a carry from them and got to be friends with some of the members so they invited me.

I didn’t make claims of being a mythic/heroic raider.

Try again.

Hm. How convenient.

Time gating still existed in BfA. The content in BfA was gated behind rep grinds.

I know you didn’t but there was absolutely zero reason for anyone to grind islands for hours in your position. Plus you were trying to talk for the majority of the playerbase and if you haven’t even heroic raided I don’t know how the heck you figure you could do that.

I do world quests and/or dailies. That has been my main content for the last 4 to 6 years. The rep comes naturally, I never ‘grinded’ for it.

Plus you took the entire conversation off track with time gating. There was nothing in my response about time gating. I said if you don’t do Torghast and the renown content, you literally don’t have a game to play.

In BfA, you could skip the grinds and still do almost everything.

So lets take for example a guild that do a full heroic run each week with 20 members, each boss will give 2 pieces of loot, so 40 from the bosses and another 20 pieces selected by the players from a pool of 60. On average 3 pieces of loot per boss if you ignore the fact that one of those pieces selected from a pool of 3, which is just like before.

If a guild instead kills 3 mythic bosses, they will get 2 pieces of loot for each, and 20 pieces at the end of the week. So an average of almost 9 pieces per boss, which is WAY higher than before.

So on the worst case scenario you are getting the same, and on the best case you are getting 3 times more loot than normal. Stop whining.

This thread is full of lols.

Shadowlands is miles ahead of the BFA.

No one is forcing you to do anything

You lasted longer than I did, OP. This is worse than WoD and BFA for me, since I never unsubbed during either of those expansions.

Yeah they really missed the mark in a big way with this expansion.

Oh well. I guess the Good expansion -> Bad expansion -> repeat isn’t true anymore and we just get terrible expansion followed by mediocre expansion.

I think the declining revenue → declining budgets ensures you get increasingly bad expansions until the game goes into maintenance mode or is sold.

Easy fix for #3… just play disc! it’s the most fun spec in the game.

That is exactly it. People who were overly concerned with what other people got wanted other people to get less gear and have fewer paths for upgrades.

Enjoyable and rewarding to more people. As it is they burn out more people then they make happy. I haven’t done maw stuff in 2 weeks because it feels pointless. I barely do torghast because it also feels pointless and it just takes too much time. This expac and the grinds so far feel…empty and unrewarding.

Islands were not a required grind. Did maybe 20 of them across the whole 2 years and had aotc in every bfa patch I played.

You know how you can tell the vault is poorly thought out? It will offer you an item you have equipped.

The kind of person that defends something like that isn’t worth responding to.
Blizzard could literally pull a Destiny 2 and remove access to 2/3rds of the content in the game… and this shaman clown would be the first guy to defend it.

We pay by the month to subscribe. Are you saying we’re being scammed?
