$15 a month for a 14 year old game?

15$ a month, #nochanges!

If you charge less than 15, it ruins my immersion. Its the paying of 15$ a month that builds COMMUNITY. We don't want quality of life improvements like sharding or trading items, and we certainly don't want quality of REAL LIFE improvements like a reduced subscription price. We want it exactly the way it was in 2004 were we paid 15$ a month.

See how ridiculous you people sound.
What happened to "no changes"? I thought the point of that tag line was that you dont want any changes, you want the 100% authentic vanilla experience, which included a $15 sub. But now you want changes? Whats goin on here guys?

well if you want a 15 dollar separate sub from bfa that's fine.
Vanilla never came with bfa attached to it on an account.

Notice what i did there? they are two diff games keke

See how many of the retail players go along with that idea since they are so eager to pay for it themselves and gloat constantly. Put your money where your mouth is and fork out 30 dollars for both.

This is why I hope the forums require a subscription once the game actually drops because people can't realize that paying for a WARCRAFT account doesn't automatically grant you access to BFA content.

And how many hours of entertainment do you get out of those $50 games? 5 years worth?

If you have trouble affording it, then farm WoW tokens on retail. This isn't something they'll budge on.

This is how I view the price of games in $/hr of entertainment. Using my vanilla wow experience, back in the day I was probably at 30 days /played after the first year. That equates to roughly $0.25/hr, which is pretty good compared to other activities like movies, shows, netflix, going out for dinner.

If the sub is not worth it for someone then they shouldn't play the game. I spent $15/month on the game when it was new and I'll spend $15/month now because the experience is worth the same to me, regardless of the age of the game!

Is this real?

I'm not paying $180 a year for ANY game, let alone a almost 15 year old game that doesn't get content updates.

This is a bad move by blizzard, and it will definitely effect the amount of people playing classic.

They should have cut the sub price in half at the least.

If I was planning on playing for 5 years, that is $900.

let that sink into your head for a second...$900 to play a 14+ year old game for 5 years.

You could buy 60 games at $15 each for that amount of money, there is no way classic is worth that much.

You have to be some kind of wow addict if you think this is a fair price.

BUT IT IS A FAIR PRICE... PRIVATE SERVERS ARE THAT WAY

Gaming is already a fairly cheap hobby, $15 a month isn't bad. Lets say you play an hour a day for a the month, that's 50 cents an hour... now go to a movie, lets say its 3 hours and costs $12, thats $4 an hour. Suck it up and pay that 50 cents an hour for some enjoyment.

Edit: You can also play for free by using that retail sub that you get and go buy a token.
There should be a classic only option. $5 per month at most.
$15 was vanilla. No changes!
A sub will weed out most of the toxic players you'll see on the private servers

I agree with reducing the price of it though.
I'd pay $30 per month for real Vanilla World of Warcraft. I'm not sure this is going to scratch that itch though. They're making too many changes. Sad day
If you have a active supbscription (like i am sure you do now) it is no extra cost.
I think keeping BFA separate from real wow is a better idea, even in subs. Then BFA players can has their pay to win and not interfere with real players.
I have zero desire to have a conversation with someone who thinks they should pay less than the current sub rate much less think blizzard would even considerate it. Get a job.

Sweet I can now play both. Qq more please. Oh and cry into this cup cause I want to drink your tears.
again the main problem seems to be you need to own wow and sub to retail to play classic. This is an issue as blizzard is lumping subs together to try and make it look like retail isn't dying.

Granted they didn't specify what iteration of WoW you need to buy, so base game is what 10 bucks?
spending 900 dollars on a hobby for 5 whole years is absolutely miniscule.

There is no base game to buy anymore. You pay a sub fee and you get access to all content prior to the current expansion.

Also, I paid $15 a month in 2005, and I have no problem paying $15 a month now.

I have no problem with pay the game!!!!
but what if i play only 1-2 hours a day ... sometime maybe i don't want to play at all
they should considering to change that, if i pay for 30days, i want to play 30days, not 30day for 1-2 hours ... that sucks ...
give us that option to choose!!!!
for example:
op1: 30 days
op2: 100 hours play time
its that easy

"see? .... no one cares ... "
