$15 a month for a 14 year old game?

If it keeps the nost-baby NEET-lords away, hell yeah!

I’ll pay. Gladly. I think the majority will.

What a stretch. An existing BFA sub glad to pay the additional $0.

If I only had to $15 a month that's fine, but having to buy a game I don't want to play and then another one cause remember another wow will come out before Classic is done. And so on if the make a BC server.

But you dont have to buy a game to play. The game is available immediately with the cost of the subscription. The only thing you wont have access to is the current expansion of retail. If all you plan to play is Classic, then you're just paying $15 per month.

schadenfreude

Some of us after over a decade of begging, are more than happy to join in and take a steaming crap on the company that betrayed us.
Ah, so you are throwing a tantrum and decided to troll the forums. Good plan there Joe....

Just shows that it would have been better to lock these forums to PAYING subscribers. This is why non subscribers and trial account can't post on the main forums.

Oh the irony.

15$ a month

Hardcore player 10h a day/ 300 a month / 0.05$ an hour
Less Hardcore 6h a day / 180 a month / 0.083$ an hour
Average 3h a day / 90 a month / 0.167$ an hour
No time 1h a day / 30 a month / 0.5$ an hour

Beside enjoying the light emitted from your light bulb what other cheap entertainment can compare?

While the game might be overpriced, lets say you expected 10$ but its 15$ (tho you can buy 6 months and get it cheaper).
To me a game you have been waiting for years is a bit hard to pass on for 5$.

I think you are not that much of an avid fan of vanilla if 5$ deters you that much from playing the game you been aching to play for years and at a point thought will never be back.

Totally justifies giving it to retail players at no additional cost whatsoever.

You might wanna look up the term Irony. I'm not the one having a hissy fit.

And why is that exactly? Why a paywall to BFA but no paywall to get to classic?

No, you've just been hardcore trolling the classic forum for days and then you accuse someone who is only here in the classic forum because they are a classic fan, of trolling.

Also hearing you need to shell out for retail to play classic is a turn off.
You don't need to shell anything out. If you haven't been keeping current, retail is free to download, the only thing you have to pay for is the expansion and game time. And the expansion is not EVEN required. You just have to have a wow account with game time on it to play Classic, and it doesn't even have to be active. $15 gives you both games.
I don't have gametime and have all builds of WoW up to the current one (thanks free updates)

so what I shell out for the sub or what?

Because if they're running off current code base for this I'm not buying WoW a second time for it
If Classic WoW has the same server setup like vanilla and has 0 sharding after launch or exclusively in Valley of Trials, Red Cloud Mesa etc then I will be so happy to pay for this game.

You think they are giving it to them?

They do it so people who get tired of one can play the other and they don't lose subs in the process.
The only reason I am against it is Token issues, other than that, why do you care if someone decides to turn and play classic instead of retail?

This is their model, of course it benefits them, paying 15$ on each would create an uproar, making classic into 5$ might cause carnivorous relations between the two and since one is cheaper they earn less. Bundling them together is their optimal solution. This company is here to make money not charity.

Crying over values or game philosophy I understand.
If you cry over price being the same as it always were minus the box game maybe you are just not that into classic.

Button line, you get your promised game for the same price it used to be, why do you care how blizzard handles their financials? they can give their friends free accounts, would it stop you from playing?

Is this real?

I'm not paying $180 a year for ANY game, let alone a almost 15 year old game that doesn't get content updates.

This is a bad move by blizzard, and it will definitely effect the amount of people playing classic.

They should have cut the sub price in half at the least.

If I was planning on playing for 5 years, that is $900.

let that sink into your head for a second...$900 to play a 14+ year old game for 5 years.

You could buy 60 games at $15 each for that amount of money, there is no way classic is worth that much.

You have to be some kind of wow addict if you think this is a fair price.

I pay 60 bucks a month to play EQ, and thats a 19 year old game :) - but I made good life choices and that kind of money doesnt matter to me. Make better life choices is the moral here.

Its comical that people actually thought blizzard was going to spend money and resources to make something and NOT charge for it, lol. People are crazy.

You should go to work tomorrow and tell your boss your there to work for free, cause ya know, getting paid for work is completely ridiculous.

I wouldn't have any problem paying $15 a month for Classic.

I refuse to pay $15 a month for the current retail game and since I have to pay for the current retail game in order to play Classic, I won't be playing Classic.

you kind of people are proof that no matter what blizz does? They're wrong. You're an absolute fool and many of us are so happy you won't be bringing your toxicity to any form of this game.

...

Then don't play it.

I won't if it's $30.

What about 15? Which is the price they have stated. (American ofc)
And why is that exactly? Why a paywall to BFA but no paywall to get to classic?

Well we still don't know if they will have a box cost for sure yet
$0.04 a day to play classic. You're cheap.
I used to spend like 300-400 a month on Booze, paying 15$ a month on WoW to pass my time and keep my hands from being Idle really helps. If i sat around watching tv shows all day when not working my hands would probably have a bottle in them. So i'm actually saving money by playing the game lol

You sound poor af.
I have no problem paying if the game sticks to vanilla but if they leave sharding in the high regen i will be out.
I just finished a vacation at Disneyland and Universal in California.

If anyone honestly thinks 15$ a month is too much money. They have never been an adult anytime in their life.

Between my wife and I we handed Disney 500$ + in two days, easily. And you think 180$ for a year is bad? You have absolutely no idea.
