Yes I understand that, but the fact of the matter is som timeline was shortened dramatically, so anyone arguing that they want people to run farther in a squished timeline server isn’t going to make any sense to anyone.
Regardless, even without stones, how would that be any different than warlock summons? It’s quite literally the same mechanic, should we remove lock summons too?
Stones are just a warlock without needing one. It’s that simple frankly
I’d say that falls into the realm of class design, similar to mages having portal/conjured food and healer classes the ability to rez the dead. Those utilies are part of the class’s kit and the gathering stones contribute to their erosion.
Not at all. The summoning stone is basically just that warlock that you whisper to summon your group for 1g. The stone just cuts out the middle man. You still need 2 people to run to the stone in front of ZF, the equivalent of running to that lock in gadgetzan
It is pointless to go this far into detail over something so irrelevant though. Mages make food and so do innkeepers. We would be arguing over absolutely nothing if we go down that rabbit hole
The middle man being cut is a player in an mMoRPg. Mage’s conjured items are also available on-demand no matter how deep into a dungeon/raid a team may be. That’s the whole point of the utility.
People who are against miniscule things like summons, or even RDF queen system, their only line of defense is that they want the player to have to add as much time as possible before completing a task.
They quite literally have no other points other than believing inconvenience is immersion. Which simple is not the case
The rushed timeline has been awful and after playing classic vanilla and TBC from the beginning, it has all but demolished my interest in continuing into Wrath
I am sick of working hard for gear but then having no time to enjoy using it
I have not veered at all and my point stands: the world shrinks when everyone gains the abilities to be a warlock at the entrance of a dungeon. Everyone should be able to summon food, enter stealth, open portals, tank raid bosses, res the dead, heal, and have access to every buff. You even admitted the world shrank. You’re the one pivoting now.
See? You are proving my point that you are arguing for the sake of arguing.
If you drew a poll, a yes or no answer only, over the course of all classic lovers:
Do you care about needing a lock or a stone to summon? Y?N
what do you think (know) the outcome will be?
Common sense tends to get under the skin
You aren’t even arguing convenience vs inconvenience now, you are just blabbering because I have cornered you. Maybe if you post on your alt that is used to promote era, the outcome will change. The summoning stone ordeal has absolutely nothing to do with the new subject you have conveniently escaped to : homogenization
But you are comparing apples to oranges. Ready to lose again?
Summoning stones are static objects - which you are now trying to say compares to all classes having conjure food. Shall we go on? Can you drop a summoning stone out of your bag? Can you cast a spell to drop a summoning stone? no, so you cant compare conjure food with it
Patently false. It subverts the role of a warlock summoner. Denying that is to say the stones don’t perform the same function which you have already conceded:
Why are you comparing the SUMMONING stone, to a mage’s abilities to conjure items? You’re falling on nonsequitors now. The accurate claim is that the stones invade warlock’s design space, not mages.
And you still have not provided me any information on why summoning stones matter vs warlocks in any rational way, shape or form. If there was impeding issues with it vs warlocks, we would have heard problems with it. Yet, people prefer summoning stones to not having them. Why? Because it is just another minor convenience that helps people play, rather than purposeful inconvenience. I can tell you are getting mad, but this is the truth.
That’s a lot of hot air with zero substance m8. You’ve done my work for me by prematurely conceding on every point I’ve made ITT yet still feel the need to rail against it. Good for you?
