12.1 Ret Paladin... above the teasing

What is the issue? It seems like a compensation buff?

It’s not a compensation buff at all, since that spell has always been advantageous by nature… it would be balanced if it had remained at the initial -50%… it would have remained tolerable if it had remained at -20% given the changes underway… announcing what they announced and then seeing it go from -20% to +15% is really taking ourselves and fooling themselves… they proved themselves wrong…

Why do boomers type with all those ellipses… do they think they’re being mysterious… they just sound stupid…

They nerfed the interaction it had with Skyfury but didn’t want it to impact Ret DPS when using that talent so it was a compensation buff stop crying about it.

They are the ones who talk about:

I can understand compensating Skyfury with a change from -20% to -15% or -10%. But since they themselves talk about “will allow for more choice and player agency,” with such a huge buff to CSAA, how do they think they can balance it with TS?

They’re always one step away from balancing, but CSAA always receives huge buffs anyway. A +100% damage TS wouldn’t be enough… against an automatic, increasingly rapid and uncontrolled HP generation that they continue to buff, they continue to betray their own declared intentions.

they should just rework templar strikes into a meaningful cd ability call it 45 seconds idc but every patch there is a legion of this exact argument of “no ts” “nou csaa” back and forth, OR make the only logical choice in templar ts and csaa for herald. Either way no one will ever be happy with what they do just be thankful they walked back that stupid divine storm to consume divine purpose nonsense from the 4 set.

obviously because there are so many of us who feel sick to their stomachs at the lobotomized gameplay of csaa

templar will never be a viable talent as long as csaa exists

auto attack changers are probably the strongest type of talent you can get

i mean, ts is probably just as lobotomized. pressing another gcd doesnt mean the spec has a higher skill ceiling or more “complex” especially when its a gcd you only press when you need it..like cs so basically almost never with proper rotational play back then

Yes, but at least you have control over the Holy Power and you feel that if you don’t press the HP they won’t come out. Which is an important feeling to preserve.

i mean thats why you have double judgement and boj for? not to mentio nthe ton of aow procs you get now.

idk i dont se e a world where ts can exist as long as csaa exists. but i dont think csaa should be removed. its already a staple for alot of melee specs to have something like it.

Commas, Turning Up, Everywhere

WASHINGTON—In the midst of a crisis that may have reached a breaking, point Tuesday afternoon, linguists, and grammarians, everywhere say they are baffled, by the sudden and seemingly random, appearance of commas, in our nation’s sentences. The epidemic of errant punctuation has spread, like wildfire, since signs of the epidemic first, appeared in a Washington Post article, on Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben, Bernanke. “This, is an unsettling trend,” columnist William Sa,fire, told reporters. “We’re seeing a collapse of the grammatical rules that have, held, the English language, together for, centuries.” Experts warn, that if this same, phenomenon, should occur with ellipses…

I tried fitting ts into things early on didn’t seem to payoff so if this is the forever cycle reworking it to a meaningful ability makes more sense to me than the dead talent status.

He’s enumerating some relatively evident realities that have been mentioned ad nauseam since CSAA and TS have been a thing.

It denotes exasperation at repeating them but he did anyway for the benefit of those who would be unaware.

Granted, there were a lot of them but they do convey his emotional state on the matter.

On the subject itself, I tend to agree with Ara on this.

Although, the situation wouldn’t be that egregious if they left it at a penalty.
A buff to CSAA attack speed is… surprising?

Yay!

wut?

k?

shoulda been a thing on patch 12.0 so good that they fixed it.

Dunno about that speed increase though.

From what I understand, they nerfed art of war from proccing from skyfury, cool, but they made CSAA have a speed increase… meaning even if it don’t proc from skyfury, the attack speed booast still makes them more the viable since it will mean more attacks per minute for more art of war procs anyways.

I’m glad TS gotten a buff and they fixed skyfuries effect on us, but then they buffed the speed of CSaa away from a speed decrease to an increase… it makes no sense since the penalty for taking auto was supposed to be less art of war procs to begin with.

That was in combination with the Skyfury nerf.

You mean fix.

CSaa does not need a speed increase. By making it make your auto attacks faster, they defeated the purpose of removing art of war from skyfury. You will want to take CSaa just for more art of war procs alone.

Ding-Ding-Ding. :ok_hand:

No, the purpose of removing that was to remove the unnecessary coupling between Ret and shamans, not to nerf ret.

It was two-fold according to the patch notes; To reduce the amount of HP generation to more managable levels and to make paladins less skyfury dependant. They only managed one end, the skyfury dependance.

The over all damage buff to the skills was meant to counter balance that.

It was also “supposed” to open more options to ret other then “play one build or die”

Exactly!

I was referring to this second aspect. At this point it would be ESSENTIAL to also increase the speed of basic melee attacks (without Csaa) by 15% so as not to have disparities in AoW activation.
