12.1 News for Housing

You think these people watch the video?

Remember how we had to link the state of azeroth video and the look ahead in housing…twelve times, 7 of which was in the SAME thread??

These people dont read or watch hardly anything, they just complain on here day in and day out.

Watch. The. Video. Ho-ly. If yall got time to post in here, yall got time to watch the video about the thing yall fake caring about.

I hope we can resize the pets like we can decor. I would love to have Undead Guards for my house.

no new walls either. do you want orc or belf exterior? human or nelf exterior? do you want wood, stone, or 3 shades of white inside? aaaand let’s keep the “interior walls” mismatched to the few walls you can make inside.

housing started off very strong, but i feel like they took that initial positive feedback as confirmation they don’t need to give us more than various shapes of wool rugs.

Housing is still INCREDIBLY strong. They are adding tons of new features and decor constantly. Like, they’re going HARD with Housing. We just got tons more decor, external budget upgrade, and external lighting.

But, no, they aren’t adding EVERYTHING all the time. You aren’t getting EVERY SINGLE thing with every patch. Apologies that they aren’t able to comply with all 100 things that people have been requesting. But we are getting the two of the top five requests people have had since beta. You may need to wait on some of the other.

Not to be that guy but as long as the store stuff is out they leaving that out till its dry

Next step after house/room blueprints should be custom components. Let us select a grouping of decor and save them as a custom item blueprint.

We won’t be able to place hunter or warlock pets yet. All companion pets should be fine.

The video exclusively showed off pet battle capable pets.

Non-combat pets are pets that are in the pet journal. Combat pets are hunter/warlock pets.

I mean you still can as long as you’re cool with them being really tiny undead guards.

ot’s so strong they added the square wool rug and a bunch of basic themed doodads that matched the already released basic doodads. whoo.

edit; if this meets your “you cant have everything all at once” timeline, what, in your mind, is a realistic expectation for goblin wallpaper? tauren exteriors? are you looking at one single wall or exterior per faction per patch? i know it’s an evergreen feature but content droughts apply to housing as much as they apply to pve/pvp content.

edit2; we still don’t have basic empty plates and cutlery. like. what are we supposed to be expecting here?

I couldn´t care less about styles, I think the current one represents the two main factions nicely. To expect a new style for each race in WOW, is an illusion exile… sorry wrong game, but ya, it´s unlikely something they are working on 24/7.

You an decorate your house as you please and make it a panda home or worgen etc. But the basic “blueprint” won´t change much I am afraid.

@topic

The blueprint thing is cool, having some pets wander around is not bad, but maybe that is a paid decor item from the shop, so we will see.

Everything else is not in the slightest interesting for me, I am still missing the essentials of housing like crafting, bank / storage and all that.

I still think the housing team is on a very limited budget and % of what they are allowed to add. It´s clearly not a priority feature for Blizzard, but that is also because they limited themselves so much by saying “no player power”.

There just isn´t much to add if you don´t want functionality and power, this is housing after all and what else besides building it and adding some decor can you do?

Still no armor, still no weapons, still no mounts.

I’d LOVE to know what braindead decision is being made with new furniture priorities as well. How the hell does Kobold furniture take priority over the roughly 95% of class hall assets that weren’t ported in yet?

To the housing team: we cannot play as kobolds, this furniture is useless.

Housing level 12 and large exteriors with 12.1

HOUSING

Neighborhoods and player houses will become available in next week’s build.

  • BLUEPRINTS

    • Blueprints let players save their housing creations to swap between or share them with other players!

    • Blueprint codes can be shared cross-region (excluding China) with other players for them to import as well.

    • Blueprints operate on the entire house (both inside and out), the interior only, the exterior only, or a single room.

    • When importing, a list of all required rooms and decor will be shown, including the budget needed, what’s missing, and so on so players know what’s about to happen or what they need.

    • Importing will also try to do the “right” thing for dyed items (using correctly dyed items, potentially dyeing items, but NOT replacing already dyed items, etc).

    • Players can have up to 50 “save slots” for their different layouts, as well as 10 additional ones for “auto-saves”.

      • Auto-saves are automatically created when importing a Blueprint so players can easily revert.
    • Players now have an additional house permission called “Export” that defaults to no one. Other players visiting a house where they pass this permission can choose to import into their own save slots.

    • Blueprint codes can be linked in chat and inspected there as well.

    • Blueprints can be reported.

    • A Reset button has also been added that will reset the whole house or just the interior or exterior if someone wants to start over from scratch.

  • PETS

    • Pet Beds allow players to show off their pets both in and outside their house.

    • Players can place up to 10 beds inside and up to 5 beds outside. Once a bed is placed, players can select a pet to make its home there.

    • Indoor pets can be set to either Stationary or Roaming while pets placed outdoors are only Stationary for the time being.

    • A small number of pets are unavailable to be placed for a variety of reasons.

  • ENDEAVORS

    • There are 4 new Endeavors:

      • Knock-off Amani (this is the featured Endeavor with the release of Curse of Ula’tek)

        • Griftah and his travelling troupe of traders would like to visit the neighborhood to trade their “traditional Amani goods”. It’s fairly obvious that these are not original Amani items, however the neighborhood residents are interested nonetheless.
      • Every Bakar Has Its Day

        • Residents of the neighborhood love their pets, but they could use some help training them. The centaurs of the Ohn’ahran Plains have very strong bonds with their bakar and they may be willing to pass on some training tips.
      • Candle Culture

        • Strange wax deposits have started to appear in the neighborhood. Who better to find a use than the Kobolds of the Ringing Deeps? Seek their counsel on illumination.
      • Vacation Season

        • The Tortollans are a worldly folk. So worldly, in fact, that they need no introduction to your neighborhood–they’ve been vacationing here long before you put down your roots! Share in their recreational wisdom.
    • Players may notice new things in their Neighborhood based on the Endeavors that have been completed, both old and new.

  • DYE UPDATES

    • Dye crafting has been streamlined, considerably freeing up bag space taken up by dyes.

    • New dye colors have been added, including those that replicate the darker appearances from before 12.0.5.

  • HOUSES

    • Houses can now reach level 12, unlocking increased limits, large exteriors, and more.

    • Players can now move the entry room anywhere in the house, including other floors! Finally, basement dreams can be realized!

  • UI

    • Two new categories have been added for decor:

      • Vines and Hanging Plants

      • Pet Beds

  • Removed an extra pop-up when deleting a room with no Decor in it.

Has anyone accessed housing on PTR? I can’t tell if it’s just locked down currently or I’m missing some step to go claim a house.

personal preference, but I like when we add links to major announcements like this just so we know it’s actually announced.

I try not to share Wowhead articles, and for some reason it wouldn’t let me copy the quote directly keeping it blue with a link to the OP. So I rolled with what was working.

I think it’s not available the first week of ptr, saw that somewhere.
