[12.0.1 Character Creation / Transmog] Demon Hunter and Pandaren "unclothed" belt/ loin cloth clipping issues

Commenting so this gets more attention.

The forced belt on demon hunters is terrible! Please fix so it’s no longer showing as it was!

Confirmed. If some developer got “sensitive” about this content, someone needs to get over themselves. You want an adult filter, put one in the game that YOU can set; don’t force your body dysmorphic disorder on me!

If they were trying to come up with a way to get a bunch of people to quit playing WoW and hurt their business immensely they have found it with this loincloth issue and this expansions horrible glitch ridden rollout.

I doubt it was something like that. Given the hide pants option still works for everyone that’s not a DH or Panda, and it’s only seemingly affecting their 3d assets. I have to assume that it’s a bug that snuck in while they were trying to fix other mog-related issues, like the log-in screens not showing mogged alts on other servers, etc.

All they really have to do for your side of the issue is add a belt that looks like it then that issue would be fixed. Hidden should be just that hidden and invisible.

I couldn’t agree more

but it is doing hidden and invisible. It is hiding the pants, which reveals the DH loincloth.

As for adding a belt that looks like it, I think a better solution would be to just add a show/no show option to the barbershop, similar to how they do it with jewelry. That way those that want it can have it, those that dont, dont. No need for adding items.

that takes more effort to code than making it a mog

Setting a toggle for something that already exists to show/hide in the barbershop takes more to code than creating a new armor mog, assigning it to a slot, setting it to only be for blood/void/night elf demon hunters, making sure it doesnt conflict with other slots? I dont believe it. But i dont code for blizzard, so i couldnt say for sure. A toggle in the barbershop sounds easier and more fitting as its part of the character setup already.

This has ruined all of my transmogs! Thank you for reporting it.

Oh man, I hope they fix this soon, I was so sad to log in and see my panda and DH mogs ruined!

lol… the model is already there. It’s easy to set as demon hunter only. Anything in the barber shop also requires variable structure change and GUI change.

No what I was saying was just make the loincloth a belt in transmog… because that is what it is to remove it already and is what slot it will conflict with, so if it to is a belt people can pick those who want it have the option to use it or not. Not to mention its easier coding that way rather than try and add a brand new option that I’m sure will get screwed up in coding and add 20 more glitches to fix.

Commenting so it gets attention, this has ruined most of my swimming transmogs

No, it isn’t. I didn’t have that ugly (in my opinion) loin cloth thing on my Blood Elf Demon Hunter before the patch. And if you look at the character customization screen for Void Elf, it doesn’t show a loin cloth there, but puts one on your character in-game. This must be some kind of bug.

I saw that loincloth messin up my mog and I was like :0. And then i was like >:/

Yeah, I reported this as well because I started testing why this was happening immediately after the patch. Went through so many class trial characters just trying to find out what was going on. The belt is hideous and ruins so many good transmogs. I’m basically shelving my DH until its gone.

Hah not shelving my DH because she’s too much fun to play, but agree with your sentiment!

Still a bug after Feb 12 Hotfix. Please fix this! We don’t want the nasty fur belt! Please fix as it was before patch 12.0.1!

Editing this post as it won’t let me make another post here.

As of 03/12/2026 the problem is even worse. The belt would disappear if no pants armor was in the slot. However, now when removing pants armor it seems the belt persists regardless. So there are definitely changes happening, but not the right ones.

The response the GM gave to Azrythra is no where near a valid answer, that was simply a run around response. They stated the following: “**Regarding the “loincloth” or belt visual you are seeing when hiding armor, this behavior is related to the base character model’s “underwear” layer. In recent updates for The War Within and Midnight, certain adjustments were made to the underlying models to ensure visual consistency across all armor types. For Demon Hunters and Pandaren specifically, the system currently enforces this base layer as a safety boundary for the model’s textures when no other gear is equipped in those slots.”

**
What sort of safety boundary when the model is shared across multiple classes and doesn’t reflect this issue. This makes absolutely no sense and shouldn’t be hard to fix.

I’ve submitted an in game ticket outlining this issue and I will continue to place tickets until this is fixed. I highly suggest others place tickets to gain more presence on this as it doesn’t seem like the GM’s watch this forum.
