1.12 AV is a huge, huge mistake

people aren’t using sound judgment like you are

they are seeing that stuff and panicking because they think they want to spend 200 hours being killed by NPCs to get TUF and they believe that sort of stomp is somehow representative of what will happen

Live, non AV weekend, under 20 mins + alliance tend to win (think horde now? due to racials but haven’t played in months).

Except it was known you could zerg AV so even without ‘coordination’ you could still zerg AV relatively easily. The video was there to show you the least required amount of time to finish an AV, but for those that still remember 1.12 AV they’d know it was a zerg style BG.

It might not be initially but without any buffs and today’s standards you can expect everyone to just Zerg and never turtle, even on weekend AV as there is nothing to win by without zerging ie no incentives not too.

I think there is 2 issues here, everyone forget’s there is no incentives to otherwise zerg, and people are ignoring what was originally ‘Vanilla wow.’
People when you talk to them about Vanilla wow will talk about how challenging it was, how they where required to put long hours into the game, and how they felt rewarded when they got gear.
The key point his is ‘challenge,’ and 1.12 was picked as the base module by players because it had the best class balance but everything else wasn’t what they wanted. Examples are everywhere on why they don’t want X, or Y that 1.12 has simply because it removes the challenging aspect of the game and makes it lean towards the more easier aspect which people don’t want.

The fact that it has already been done thousands of times. Everyone here has likely been in an AV zerg, including yourself, as much as you’d like to pretend otherwise.

Pretending that zerging doesn’t happen isn’t a valid argument. It started in 1.12, and we have video proof, and then was effectively forced forever with reinforcements way down the line.

Alliance win AV and only AV because of imbalance in the maps fundamental design leading to a greater number of Horde (who actually know what they’re doing) opting to blacklist/not queue for AV.

After reinforcements the map actually hugely favors horde if they play to win.

With 1.12 races, you’ll just get stomped 40v1 by the zergs if you try to PVP. That’s why the only fighting in 1.12 was boss fights.

I thought classic was supposed to be about team work, maybe get some other people on your you know team to help you.

Was 1.12 picked by the players or by the Devs?

Either way, I agree, what most players really want is 1.12 talents but content between BWL release and AQ release, probably.

Whatever gave you that idea? There are way more group creation tools now than there were in Vanilla. And in Vanilla, people who wanted to form teams in battlegrounds mostly did WSG; AV was for the solo players - and was basically their only end game content.

What?

10 characters

Really? Because getting 10 players on my server/battle group in Vanilla was the norm as were 3-4 hour AVs.

I played Horde in Vanilla and you could have a grand old time with a group of 10 running back and forth recapping Frostwolf GY, Iceblood and Tower Point. Good times.

Still not as annoying as trying to take the relief hut from 5-10 horde…

People pretending to want massive turtles where 95% of “pvp battles” consisted of NPCs wiping people really is one of the most incredible examples of mob mentality hysteria I’ve ever come across.

There was a bad one in Germany a handful of decades ago but this really comes close as far as the level of delusion goes.

You’re all going to play AV, realize that it sucks even if it lasts 2 hours, stare blankly at the screen, and breathe through your mouth as you watch that revered bar tick ever closer. Then you’ll buy your rewards, brush the empty whisky bottles off your desk, and, head throbbing, move on to do fun vanilla stuff.

I don’t care if we get 1.5 or 1.12 but I gotta admit, that was a funny reply, Fenril. It was also in good taste.

You may not have (as I didn’t), but the majority screeched about having a carbon-copy private server.

Beg pardon? You may need to cite your ridiculous sources,

Gonna call BS on this too.

I mean, you’re welcome to call BS, or you can scroll through the early posts on the old forums when #nochanges and all their autism was out in full 1.12 force.

100% true …
