Blizzard just decided what class to main in this expansion out of the 3 class i have chosen . Fire Mage , BM Hunter , and Arms Warrior .
Mage
BM Hunter got Nerfed .
Arms Warrior got Nerfed .
Wow, people must really think that their own data is more accurate than say blizzard internal data when it comes to class balancing. Or is it that maybe some of you or most of you want just your class to top the meters and or charts or whatever third party applications.
idk what’s going on with WoW devs, possibly they don’t play the same game as customers or where they take reviews from… but a massive nerf to class that otherwise required a possible buff… I don’t even know what to think…
att. a sad monk
It’s definitely weird. Not really backwards, but just weird. I get that Beta is for testing stuff and that the buffs are probably still being tested, but if we already know that buffs are needed after the initial nerfs, then… why push the nerfs to live?
Seems like it’d make more sense at this point to just leave the Beta Tuning out of Live until TWW actually launches. At which point the changes can be made directly to the live game and it’s all merged into 1 release again.
It doesn’t REALLY matter. This is all TWW prep stuff anyway. It’s just weird to watch both sets of patch notes move at different paces. I guess it’s more of a side effect of everyone having Beta more or less this time around so there’s a lot more visibility regarding what’s going on there than there normally would be for an average player.
FWIW, they are tuning for max level, not level 70. Prepatch always gets wonky. Seeing 15% nerfs across the board for some specs sounds awful, but at the same time, it’s irrelevant because some classes benefit wildly from being tuned around a level we’re not playing at currently. Happens every prepatch. I remember being able to bang out like triple the highest DPS I ever saw in Cata during the MoP Prepatch on my Paladin. Similarly, I think it was WoD’s prepatch where Holy Paladins could just waltz into PvP and basically 1 shot with Holy Shock and never die?
Fact is this is the time for massive changes like this (it’s just that normally they’d drop at the start of prepatch, not the middle). Better to get the big chunky tuning done in the beginning and not 2 weeks into S1 TWW.
Abandoning a potential main because you got nerfed before the expansion even starts is silly. It’s not Dragonflight tuning.
Frost DK only gets nerfed, and massively so. Especially the target cap reduction from 8 to 5 for Icy Death Torrent paired with all the damage reduction (flat sticker nerf and on top of that specific ability nerfs) will likely kill dual-wield Obliterate again, and Frost DK will be near bottom tier once more.
Icy Death Torrent compensated for the Death and Decay requirement for Obliterate cleaving, which is a real issue especially in M+ where tanks often must keep moving mobs.
I wish I had not preordered TWW and may end up not playing even though I paid for it. I really resent this development team, and the way this game makes me feel is a clear indicator that the healthiest and smartest move would be to ditch it again.
My Fire Mage has been main in DF . Not my Hunter . I did had high hopes
to playing Arms Warrior , but that went south very quickly .
MM is the only reliable hunter class . The other 2 hunter class got nerfed really bad .

Ouch. Holy Pally is getting murdered.
Still no option to move target of target frame in the edit mode big sad
I hope this isn’t like the daily quest icons. The “readability” massively decreased for me and I now often miss daily quests. For a company that allegedly cares so much about accessibility, some visual changes are puzzling.
oh wow. ouch lol. there are gonna be so many tears. bm hunters gonna lose it.
blizzard usually always adds a new class or race each xpac. but i never seen them delete one before. oh except ranged survival.
prepares mop and bucket
As someone who mains a BM Hunter these nerfs are a killer. Right now on live we are mid tier, not the best not the worse. Still because in the future we might become viable we are being nerfed into the ground. It’s like having your pay lowered because you might one day be rich. So those BM hunters who never played the beta are just going to be like WTH when suddenly their struggling to kill a level 1 mob.
Not really. This is level 80 balancing around Hero talents. Will there be tears from the less intelligent who dont understand this? Yes.
After playing a max level toon ins beta? I can tell you these changes are not that bad
Nerfs death knight’s grips! It is impossible for some classes to play which causes those classes to be USELESS in rbgs! Death Knights immobilize certain classes for the ENTIRE game. That’s not a fun play style for anyone. You know who that’s fun for? The Death Knight. You cry because healers don’t enjoy arena solo shuffle; well, this doesn’t help. I spent an entire EoS on an unplayable disc priest. Again, that playstyle that is not enjoyable for anyone but the death knight.
My issue with changes like this are when they keep buffing certain activities, and nerfing other activities, changing playstyles purposely. If I’m given a toolkit, I should be able to use the toolkit how I wish to use it. If I want to bang on something with a wrench, I should be able to. If I want to use pliers to twist something off instead of a specific sized wrench, I should be able to. But things keep getting nerfed so hard that we become FORCED to play a certain way, or be literally unviable. Not less, but negated.
What I’m sick of the most is everything being balanced around not only certain aspects of the game to then apply to everyone, but also to negate certain things that only a very small tier of players even do to begin with. Balancing from the top down might prevent the top from doing crazy things, but it also prevents the majority from enjoying far larger parts of the game even more.
These self-healing and self-defensive nerfs, for example. They are an attempt to make high level dungeon play matter more. But they hurt soloers. Especially soloers with lesser gear, because as we all know, the worse the gear, the more the healing and defensive help. And it’s not a linear benefit, either.
It’s the same thing with movement. Nerfing movement for some classes, because it negatively impacts dungeons or raids has a bigger impact on again, open world play. Nerf the behavior of the classes WHEN they are in raids and dungeons, not all of the time. I mean, we already see this done for PVP, so we know it’s possible. We even have extra PVP talents. We could easily have extra open-world talents, that don’t work in dungeons and raids.
Also keep in mind they’re not balancing FOR pre patch, it’s for expansion launch based on beta data.
Are BM Hunter being nerfed once they reach 80 and have hero talents or are they being nerfed at level 70 before they have hero talents? It’s one thing to nerf a spec that is extremely OP. BM Hunters are far from that on live. Because we obtain greatness at level 80 with hero talents we get nerfed at level 70?
Blizzard balances the game for max level. It’s been that way since the start of the game.
That said, BM was gutted. We’ll see how it pans out.
I think one of the problems with balancing for max level end game. Is that specs that already play badly are made worse. While specs that are already overpowered are given even more power.
Well having mained a BM Hunter since 2007, being at the bottom of the barrel isn’t anything new.
