Nah, they are trying different systems. Like right now, you have essences from all different gameplays, from BGs to rated pvp, to mythic+, to IE’s… you name it.
Meaning that you either form a group or join a group for _________ world quest, alt+tab to youtube, do whatever - come back and its done. Pure f***** magic
They should have been more creative on how you earn those essences. Farming rep or doing follower quests in Nazj is just boring.
You could technically do this in BGs/Ashran during wod… eventually you’d get the wins for the CP for the BIS gear.
There’s a whole slew of ways to earn them

Just because you want to be a complete pelican and do it that way, someone is still completing them. Still requires effort on your part.

They should have made some essences unique to certain classes or specs as well. Generic essences for a generic expansion.

The reward it offers being stronger than a mythic dungeon is the primary concern, not if you want to afk it - or carry the afks through it.
People do that anyway, class identity blesses some and curses others. Learn to adapt, or roll that class.
So they should just bring back templates then.
Certainly better than the alternative of being roflstomped on an ungeared, lacking good essence toon.
Was the same for alts in wod until you got gear. At least now you have the chance to gear up a bit first.
this game used to be world of WAR craft where you did every thing to better your toon and kill the enemy. Now its world of cupcakes. bunch of wimps who don’t put in time and earn gear. bring back twinks 100% and have regular bgs and mythic bgs with greater rewards and achievements. Also you could have TB, wintergrasp etc with all xp-on and xp-off players 10-19, 20-29, 30-39s etc. blizz has amazing content and keeps wasting it. I used to have 100-200 friends on at any time during legion now there is 2-3. Its sad how many people walked and I don’t blame them. stop punishing people for gearing players. not every one gives two $hits about end game.

No he didnt, since the item level for AOO is 415 and weapons can’t titanforge, only warforge.
