10/8/2020 - Repeated scan repair

I’m having the same problem. This appears to have started when there was a very small update to the game. After Launching battlenet app, it starts to scan the files. After it scans, it says nothing was corrupted or fixed or something like that. I do have the option to stop the scanning and play the game. I tried deleting the battle.net and blizzard folders in the hidden C:programdata folder but this did not help.

Same issue here. Tried deleting the IDX files, and will try to reinstall the game. Started happening since the recent Battle.Net client update.

Adding my name to the list. This is annoying, because the scan takes forever on my pc. It’s already been over 5 min waiting for the scan to finish & it’s only half way done. /feelsbadman It didn’t do this yesterday when I logged in; It just started this morning. What gives Blizz? Please fixes your issues!

Same issue here. Two computers in house. One runs fine the other is stuck on scan. Adding name to list. Hope they fix this. It started last night. Strange that one computer runs game fine but other will not.

Same issue.

Also having the same problem. It started following the launcher update. If I launch game directly and manually put in email/password the game starts. Using the launcher causes the scan and it finds no problems.

Might as well throw my name on the list. Maybe if this thread gets long enough they’ll notice.

My launcher also scans every time i launch the game. It scans, does a quick download and then it’s ok to play, but it does it every single time I try to log on, very annoying.

Mine finally finished the scan, then it replaced my play button with an update button. But the little update bar on the side says… “waiting for another update…” . There isn’t anything else updating, though. I clicked the update button & nothing happened. It’s just stuck there waiting for another update that isn’t happening. UGH! I closed out the launcher & reopened it. It is scanning my files again! BOO! Please fix, I just wanna play!

It scans every time I launch the game, but i notice it only does it if I launch using the WoW desktop icon, if I use the Battle.net Icon, it doesn’t do a scan.

All I need to to is cancel the scan (Which I can tell will get annoying) each and every time I load the launcher. However, my keybinds are gone!

Edit: I’m playing classic and my keybinds there are still intact. It seems to be on retail only.

Same issue for me. Since Battle.net has existed, I’ve never had this happen to me until last night. It isn’t just some random off thing that happened, it’s happening to lots of people.

Just to add… I’ve deleted all the .IDX files, repaired, still having the same issues.

I also uninstalled, re-installed every thing, disabled and removed all add-ons, still getting the same issue.

This isn’t isolated, this is happening to lots of people.

I’m having the same issue after a forced updated to my Battle.net app.

It’ll scan the files for about 5 mins, then say it’s installing files, (nothing new actually gets installed) then goes into ‘finalize’ phase and then after all that - I can play the game.

This is happening every time I launch the Battle.net app to play WoW.

Having the same issues as everyone else since last night. There was an update to the launcher and ever since it wants to scan and install files everytime the app is opened.

I am able to play for a session after it scans and downloads a repair, but as soon as I close out Battle.net and re-load it, it makes me wait another 5-10 minutes while it scans and, “repairs” again.

Did a full re-install of WOW + Battle.net. Issue still comes back everytime the battle.net launcher is fully closed and re-opened.
I’ve taken to launching wow.exe directly, bypassing the launcher.

Even when I try running the .exe directly, I get an error message saying that my “World of Warcraft installation is damaged”.
