I don’t think we are getting a fated df season, and here is why.
10.2.7 is when fated would happen, it has pandamonium timerunner in it. Clearly a reference to pandaria.
Xalatath is collecting old god essence, the heart is one of them.
In June of 2023 they datamined siege of org weapons coming back some how, or at least showing up again on a drop table, that we haven’t seen yet.
Siege has two things, the weapons, and the heart. It’s a time walking raid that is our fated raid.
Dungeons will probably also be all of mists of pandaria as well for that season to let us get the challenge armor and mounts again, since they also showed up.
I still think this is wrong. Scaling the raids would give us a challenge since siege is honestly not a challenge and the first mythic raid which was heroic to begin with.
Xalatath adding void corruption to the raid would make it more complicated but bosses are still a joke for any organized group.
What I’m saying is the fated part is not part of dragonflight, a stand alone end of expansion fun time. No aotcs, no slime cat, story lore and fun content attached to siege only
I’m aware, and that’s why I’m saying it’s the fated season… fated was a full season in shadowlands, and it did its job. But the raiding was awkward and the gear was meh.
If siege came in, dropping same ilvl as a scaled raid, it adds optional content of equal gear. In a season that doesn’t matter
Meh. To many unknowns to discuss this at this point…
But I find your theory unlikely because based on the roadmap 10.2.7 is probly going to launch 1.5-2 months after the season starts. There is no reason to believe there wont be a fated season
Honestly not a fan of SoO becoming a timewalking-like raid; if they were gonna do a timewalking raid like BT, Ulduar, and Firelands then they should have done Throne of Thunder instead. But if it’s tied to some new event then that’ll at least feel different.
I’m not sure if this was in reference to timerunning but iirc Ion said something awhile back about how the devs were thinking about doing something like timewalking but for open world content.
Also throughout the expansion they’ve been bringing back a bunch of old stuff that was previously removed. A lot of stuff from MoP was removed—not just the Siege of Orgrimmar heirlooms but also I guess the quests that let you get the legendary cloak or whatever (idk the details, I missed MoP). Also, challenge mode sets, sha-touched stuff, etc.
But whatever is coming, I doubt it’s replacing the fated season. I’m guessing maybe it’s going to be more like what the return of the Mage Tower was for Shadowlands.
there was nothing really in MoP that was “mage tower” like.
What are we going to do, Operate our daily farms?
If they make a timewalking world content they need to lean away from daily quests and daily grinds and offer SOMETHING else. World quests are world quests and are just bland and boring at this point, a mandatory prog.
With Dream surge/Time Rifts they went nuts and made an actual good concept, the problem is its very FOMO because its not scaled, like soup.
I would like to see all Timewalking be a month long and have world/dungeon/raid content, that would be best overall.
