Incidentally I do believe the Yellow and Green Ones are the actual Sulfur Elementals while the Blue Ones(shown on WoWhead) are Fire Elementals made from actually burning Sulfur.
To be fair, Iâm pretty sure part of the intended appeal of playable werewolves is the peekaboo factor in that you wonât know you canât trust that human until itâs too late and theyâre already on you. So being able to auto-shift back after combat as if the worgen side is tucked away while the Gilnean politely dabs his blood-soaked mouth with a hankie would play into that.
Iâd think it would only get messed up if an option is introduced to avoid turning into a worgen at all during combat.
I get it. The worgen side already feels diminished in importance, so the ability to further eschew looking like one looks like the themeâs being kicked while itâs down for those who wanted more wolf instead.
I think the ability was an inevitability as soon as the dracthyr version was created, even if that version had its own awkwardness because they attached a small gameplay incentive to not wanting to look like a dragon. But it proved that the concept could be done, and itâd only bolster the requests for a worgen equivalent.
Which is what aggravates me the most. True worgen fans picked the race for the werewolf aspect. Not to play dress up like itâs some Halloween costume you should be ashamed of.
Theyâre purposely destroying the werewolf fantasy and we have people in this thread eating it up and thinking itâs a good thing.
Screw the people who want more werewolf fantasy and less human potential I guess
Clearly Micah thinks that Werewolf and Wolfman are the same thing while you Dreadmoore as well as others think otherwise(that Werewolves are Humans that turn into Wolves while fighting and do not stay in that form at all times).
Itâs been clear since, bloody hell Cataclysm that Gilnean Worgen can change their forms whenever they want. Giving players the option to do so with a toggle is perfectly inline with lore.
Now if you want to make the argument that they need more ferocious Worgen, I agree. Last worgen I ran into in the game was apparently having himself a lovely conversation with a nightborne over a meal. So if you just want blood and howling worgen yeah you likely wonât see that with Gilneans unless something drastic changes.
I feel like a lot of people have forgotten about the mention of âprimordial trolls,â when the first round of interviews were released after Dragonflightâs unveiling.
Patrick Dawson: Itâs that familiarity and wonder at the same time. Itâs hard to capture, but itâs something weâre focusing on. Across the zones, youâll meet Centaur clans, primordial Trolls, or even revisit the Tuskarr. Itâs a nice balance between the ânewâ and âfamiliarâ.
I was waiting to see what the datamining might uncover, but itâs starting to look more and more like the Djaradin were supposed to be the aforementioned primordial trolls yet no connection has been directly established. I wonder why this story aspect was droppedâŚ
Also, the core fantasy of being a âwerewolfâ is transforming from a human to a wolf to fight. Not everyone who plays Worgen are furries who want to be in wolf form all the time. Deal with it.
Yeah I donât get it, you can be a Worgen 100% of the time and never have to change into a human. This doesnât change that. Being against the auto transform is just depriving people of options.
Its possible that the primordial trolls were dropped because Blizzard couldnât get them just right for their taste. Alternatively they are still in the cards but are being held back for later for some reason.
