1000+ MS at 1am?

Are you playing on Illidan? That’s where my main is. I often play in the middle of the night to do my dailies. I’m not seeing 1k ms ping at any time of day, though. Are you using a bunch of out-of-date addons? Do you only experience it in one zone?

no add-ons, fresh repair. this computer was bought to play wow…thats it.

Okay, what about the other questions? Are you talking about Illidan? And which zone or all of them?

everything is fubar…need to uninstall and load it again…wow

I used to have terrible lag while playing the game.

I did a lot of ping and traceroute routines.

Found a big bottleneck at ATT. I had ATT internet service at the time. Was told by a ATT tech that 1. ATT does not like gamers. 2. ATT is dedicating the majority of their bandwidth to cell phone users.

I dropped their service quicker then a rock thrown into a pond.

No more lag since.

Do you have to uninstall the game for the lag to improve? Have you checked for failing components?

i would believe that a version of the PTR was constantly downloading for some reason. ive uninstalled and started again. seem to be no issues atm. yea im on illidan,my service was great until about 2 weeks ago. so we shall see.

Add one of these ^

Why ihave to run all those test cuz b4 the damn patch 9.2 everything was fine never had ping issue…been 2days like this

You need to run the tests to see where the issue is most likely occurring. If you don’t run them, then you cannot be assisted.

Yeah, as Jetsum mentioned, troubleshooting in this forum requires your participation. I’m playing on the same server and not running into this at all.

i dunno if its ok what i did need help MS always still high

Who is your ISP? Looks like they are blocking the test.

im in Canada and its Bell Canada

Have you talked to them? The community isn’t going to be able to troubleshoot the connection with you due to the ping blocks they have set up on the network.

Terise, I appreciate that you’re trying to help them look at the results, but your assessment is not correct here.

There is not 98% data loss on the network or you wouldn’t be able to log in. And I doubt you ran the test for 10hours. This type of result is common on equipment that isn’t set up to run ICMP requests to a server (WinMTR).

Looks like your connection isn’t fully reaching the server, or Bell’s network is just blocking it. Either way, you can’t use WinMTR to test your ISP’s network. I recommend downloading PingPlottr, opting into the Pro trial version, changing the packet type to UDP, and then testing.
