Honestly with the cost of literally anything in terms of entertainment nowadays versus how much time you actually get out of it, you don’t really have a right to complain. Especially considering it’s your choice whether you pay for it or not, which you ultimately are because you obviously feel like you get your moneys worth, or you wouldn’t
To sub for the year is like $200, add on a $100 xpac which lasts 2 years, so basically $250 a year to play WoW. You go out for a single night with friends and you’re probably spending that much let alone a full year of entertainment

It’s only that price tag if you want early access which literally has no purpose. A handful of days isn’t going to give me a huge advantage in the season. A world first raider maybe but I don’t know anything about that nor does it interest me.
The people saying “OMG ITS TOO EXPENSIVE” citing the epic edition are the biggest durs on the internet.
What other sub based games have 20 years of history and a playerbase as large as WoW?
That has nothing to do with it. You are saying entertainment costs more. Which entertainment with a sub costs as much?

It’s not about affording. It’s about value. If these are only a year long or even a little more than a year long, plus they want sub cost on top, it’s the most expensive MMO out there. With competition, they’d likely lose out to other options.

I am not going to lie I am surprised that games these days don’t cost $150-200. I know it sounds ridiculous but when you look at so many other things in life I don’t understand how they can sell the games at “same” price as they did 20+ years ago. The same applies to the measly $15 subscription cost.
As for the early access etc this is all on you. They’d never do it if people didn’t buy it.
Are you truly this out of touch? A Disney plus or netflix subscription is $180 a year…. I can tell you without a doubt I get more value out of my WoW sub than I do my Disney plus sub and it’s not even close. If you don’t feel that way, why are you subbed…

D+ is also not worth that.
And I’m talking about sub based games. WoW will be the most expensive of the options for that. Do you honestly believe people will pick WoW over other options after it’s already lost a lot of players? To be clear, this cost is for expacs that will be less than 2 years, not two years long.
blizzard has long been using free to play monetization in a pay to play game.
