its the new honor system they implemented in Era last August.
8 Weeks from phase 3 drop, 20000 people will log in on that Tuesday and be GM or HWL. Its actually gonna be fun, wars wont really have to sweat bullets over getting CTS out of BWL. GM Weapons for all.
I’d be surprised if we only get 12 months. I think that people may have misinterpreted tbc release in 2026 to mean exactly 12 months.

1 year is pretty slow
Leveling 1-60 is the appeal of fresh
And virtually everyone will be done with that in 6 months
Having multiple, months-long phases where nothing gets introduced aside from a max level raid just drags it out.
2 years would be much better. If people want to rush into TBC just do that instead.

1.5 years is the perfect amount. i think that’s what will end up happening. the schedule they showed had TBC starting in 2026 spring

SoM had perfect pacing for people who wanted to play SoM
The problem was that it released at the same time as TBC. And the majority still wanted to play TBC but SoM as a side quest. They couldn’t do that.
no, even people who loved SoM, such as ME, felt 1 year was too rushed. 1.5 is the best imo
Blizzard knows that fresh has no staying power, it never does. The freshers will be bored by BWL, with half already demanding a new fresh because they have fallen behind. Thankfully it’s at most a year, and we can hope that Blizzard pushes the schedule faster to make it closer to 9 months.

i need more than 8 months to fully enjoy the game, yes. we classic vanilla players like to take our sweet time. smell the roses, etc.
rush rush rush gotta raid raid raid mentality is not catered to here.
That’s what Era is for. It’s literally never going anywhere. You can take all the time you want.

I wouldn’t despair tbh.
The earlier raids never fade to obsolescence in vanilla. There will always be MC/BWL pugs and depending upon your in game goals, that’s plenty of time to gear up in preparation for tbc.
