Next expansion they might prune less popular specs because of “low pick rate”, “Most players prefer to be spec X, as we could see from the spec selection”, and you should have only one spec to “crystalizes class Y in line with how players have largely been playing it”.
I agree with you about Arthas being more Unholy spec than either of the other ones. Of course, there is a bit of crossover, but if Unholy had access to Remorseless Winter, they’d be so close to what the WoW version of the Lich King was.
When you look at the Warcraft III Death Knight, they’re Unholy themed, focusing on death magic like Death Coil and necromancy. They didn’t even have any Frost or Blood themes at that time.
I mean its cant even really be disputed that Arthas and the LK heavily favor unholy.
If you just look at the abilities they used and what they have done then Frost barely even exists outside of the location that they exist within. Northrend or even Icecrown doesnt do into making what that person is. If I move to Egypt that doesnt make me Egyptian.
A lot of people just take pictures of the LK being in Icecrown and then go “see frost spec” when hes there summoning hordes of the undead. At the Wrathgate, it looks cold, and he summons a bunch of undead and steals the soul of Saurfang… a lot of frost going on there.
Ive been dealing with people saying the LK is frost for far too long that its just annoying at this point and goes to show how little people actually care about the thing they claim they are passionate about. So dont mistake my post as hostility towards you.
Perhaps, but ice and frost seem to be the theme. The frozen armor, how his blade captured snowflakes when he zombiefied that big dragon. The Lich King is all specs probably and more, but I’m talking about the imagery that sticks.
Because thats the theme that you want to put on it while cherry picking the evidence you want to put forward. If you dont take everything into account, and his armor isnt frozen, then you are doing yourself and everyone else a disservice. This is the same thing that the DK forums do. They severely limit the evidence that they want and then say everything else is wrong, like flat earthers.

You were doing so well. Ret is the Paladin spec. Uther in WC3, Tirion and Alexandros Mograine in WoW. These are the three Paladiniest Paladins. They all use 2-handed weapons.
