Well maybe they could ask the pserver community for that AV “data”.
AV is not coming out in august.
That’s wishful thinking. They would never compromise the integrity of the Classic release, even more so by acknowledging/crediting the “competition”.
This makes me think of playing Mario back in the day when we only had Mario. So we all got really good at it and could all beat it in one sitting. Which was fun but how do you take turns like that? So we made up a rule that you had to keep running and could take your finger off left. We died loads but it was fun even if we never got very far and we got to take turns more often which was our goal.
So if a game is fun, but someone wants more of a challenge for whatever reason they can always create random rules to make it more challenging for themselves. A no consumables run would make a raid instantly more challenging for instance. There’s all kinds of stuff people can do to make fun new challenges if they want to make something harder. Nobody needs a game to be coded harder to make it harder. Look at the iron man challenges.
Making the raid group 20 instead of 40…there’s your challenge.
Or maybe allow all those hybrids to raid. Some want it harder and some want to enjoy their class in a dps style!
No one has ever created a thread about this before.
Let’s talk about it.
AV wasn’t nerfed. Pservers use a version of AV close to the original…and they zerg it.
Probably not. They were off on boss parry by 9%, and flasks fall from the sky on most pservers.
MC and BWL will be easy, but it will still take some preparations. I’ve raided MC with raids that didn’t require everyone bring arcane/fire prot pots…There is a big difference between a prepared and unprepared raid in MC.
Because everyone knows they heavily nerfed MC and BWL when they changed AV…
It will be the same as always. Gear checks and not standing in the fire. It never wasn’t.
I find it hilarious that people say the game is so easy. Yet they expect min/maxing on the highest order, and strict usage of class roles adapted from private servers.
But it will be sooo easy.
This is the wildcard right here. Private servers got parry % and potentially some armor values wrong. Hopefully it makes a big difference. MC and BWL will be easier in 1.12 than what was already very straight forward, but if private servers are actually overtuned - … LOL.
And for the record, people were zerging AV from the beginning. It just took a little longer. I was one of them.
Yet, you’d rather have another streamer thread? Uhm. Don’t answer that question.
I will say that a games difficulty doesn’t mean it’s fun or not fun. It really doesn’t matter as long as your enjoying the content.
Are Mario, Zelda or Final fantasy games really that difficult? No, but i have a blast playing them. Do I play dark souls because it’s difficult, no its because it has great gameplay.
The core gameplay and mechanics are more enjoyable than retail.
It really has 0 to do with difficulty, but everything with the authentic overall Vanilla experience. Vanilla even from the get go wasn’t a hard game to figure out. You take Classic in its current state and it’s barely Vanilla. More like Vanilla flavored Frozen Yogurt.
And people from Retail are flocking to it for a reason.
On my realm the first AV went on for days.
Most epic pvp battle that I can remember…that first AV.
In the beginning, but after a while those of us that knew what to do realized people just mindlessly chased kills in the middle of the pond.
Thus if AV rep was to be “grinded”, there would be 2 AVs. One full instance for those who just wanted to get it done who zerged. Another AV with 20 people per side who were doing nothing but chasing HKs like headless chickens.
Yet, you’d rather have another streamer thread? Uhm. Don’t answer that question.
Clearly that is the only alternative.
MC and BWL will be easier in 1.12 than what was already very straight forward
I think people still need to understand that the reason people blow through MC is because they are prepared. Many of your pserver guilds are very hardcore, meaning they are bis running max consumables and world buffs. I have seen raids go in to MC unprepared and fail. Having too many poorly geared players, players not running even basic consumables, nobody using arcane/fire protection potions, no enchants, too many meme specs, etc.
MC is easy, but a lot of people seem to think they will be able to go in wearing questing greens having done no farming in preparation and easily clear it. I think these people are in for a surprise.
No it’s not easy. 1.12 is same dungeons as they were entire vanilla
Let’s see how much the % parry and armor differences turn out to be. It’ll be pretty funny of private servers are over tuned in the way dungeons are also. Joke will be on me, two fold.
We already know parry was off by 9%.

I don’t think it’s a secret that pservers buffed boss armor/health. But 9% less parry is pretty big.
If this was a true classic experience you would never even consider running a 40 man raid with 20 people.
