I gotta say, this thread is full of people giving you answers to your problems, and within 30 posts your asking the same questions just to have them explained to you again. You don’t want compromise, you want it your way or you are going to rage about it. I’m out.
I’m going to have to disagree. It was pretty much the same game, just before Reinforcements were added. The NPC nerfs were ultimately what killed the environment and experience about AV.
The NPCs being so strong deters zerg play, because a solid defense, with NPC support, will defeat an assault without NPC support. Which, they could only get NPC support by playing the objectives.
If NPCs are too weak to make a difference, than it is much easier to just play offense, zerg the enemy base, and win, because it would take a massive defense to counter said offense.
When I complete all the PvE content (it’s a long, loooooong road to Kel’Thuzad), I’ll probably continue to do PvE content or level alts. I don’t really need or care to do any version of Alterac Valley. WSG and AB are super fun if I don’t take them seriously.
If success is the gauge that quality is measued by, the vanilla raids were an abject failure. Stop trotting that one guys opinion out like it means anything.
Yet, you still don’t understand the argument isn’t against earlier versions of AV, and against the notion that 1.12 is bad because it can be zerged when 1.5 can also be zerged.
You still do not understand that you cannot claim that 1.5 can be zerged, yet join the fight against it with people whining and claiming that the earlier versions took too long and led to massive queue times.
I have yet to see you make a case that the older versions are worse than the one you are fighting for. And no, simply saying a random developer during vanilla thought it was not popular carries no weight. Random developers during vanilla thought that DHKs were a good thing as well as CRBGs.
Shocking that you haven’t seen me make an argument against the older version of AV beyond saying 1.12 is bad because it can be zerged isn’t a good argument when 1.5 can be zerged.
I mean you almost seemed to have caught onto that in the 1st part of your post, then lost that train when you hit the second part.
I don’t think 1.12 will kill Classic by a long shot, but…I thought Classic was all about the flavour of vanilla, and 2 day long AVs were definitely something you remember ‘tasting.’
My ideal? Old version at first, and updating as patches come along.
1.12AV won’t hardly impact Classic, in the least. If it filters out some of these ungrateful whiners, it will be amazing. Better than we could ever hope!
You finally got the name brand cereal. Sat right down in isle ‘private server,’ cried, and got the cereal. Mama and Papa caved.
Continuing to cry because a few pieces in the bag -1.12AV- aren’t exactly what you remember or want, from the last time you had name brand cereal, is undignified and sad.
Just be happy with the high quality, stable, well maintained cereal. You don’t get it often, you hardly deserve it and it will be almost 100% as delicious as you remember. And infinitely better than the private server, off brand, nasty nuggets you’ve been snacking on.
I hope you hold true to your convictions and let Blizz know exactly how you feel, using your subscription as your voice.
How many alts are you running in these AV threads?
Like I told you on w/e character auto logs in when i log into my account: Your name is a reference to passing gas. That’s all I , or anyone, need know about the quality of your opinion.
But AV 1.12 is the same as Retail’s, just a little worse. So your argument is flawed. If you want AV 1.12, just go play Retail. I mean, that’s what I’ve done for the past decade. I want to go back to what Vanilla had.
