1.12 AV is a huge, huge mistake

Yea I don’t remember AV games ever going like that but memory is a weird thing.

I know the live team and the people at the top aren’t really fans of this project(don’t want to invest time/money) and my bet is most of them hope it fails not only for their own narcissism but for their jobs as well.

I’m gonna hope that this is just rumor but I’ve always suspected this was the case. It seems like the play for the WoW team is to somehow try to parley Classic into a revitalization of retail. Retail is their future after all.

I really don’t see how that could possibly happen though. Vanilla was such a good game it doesn’t seem like anyone could possibly prefer BfA.

It’s something people who do once or twice then abandon, so sure it might be memorable but it wouldn’t have much replay. Just like it didn’t in vanilla, there’s a reason the original AV was nerfed in the first place, during vanilla.

I think they’ve added back all the Commanders now. It’s going to be kinda sad if Modern AV eventually has a full return of the complete cast of NPCs and Classic AV does not.

This is a subject that has been asked about several times recently , and we want to clarify some of the details surrounding it. Like many aspects of the game, Alterac Valley was tuned and adjusted in different ways from patch to patch in 2005-2006.

First and foremost, we’re planning to use the 1.12 version of Alterac Valley. For many parts of the game like this, we’re picking an original WoW patch that gives us the most clarity for WoW: Classic, and 1.12 is that patch.

BTW they kept loot trading in they just modified it to work more in line with classic.

Whereas with AV we’re getting the authentic vanilla experience.
